Title: HTML editors
Post by: Gandalf on June 06, 2009, 01:55:12 PM
I've had to do some updates to another site I help to maintain today and I've been lacking an HTML editor at home. I now use Dreamweaver at work as it's part of the CS3 package that I have installed but it's way too pricey for home use and I only really need an HTML editor so Dreamweaver would be overkill.

I done some searching and came across Aptana (http://www.aptana.com/) in a few forum posts and it seems to come highly recommended.

I've downloaded and installed and I have to say, I am impressed. It's a great editor and for what I need it's perfect. There are lots of other features in there too that I've not looked at yet but willl do as I intend to install this at work to replace Dreamweaver.

Oh, I nearly forgot, it's free and available for Windows, Linux and Mac :yahoo:

Yeah I use Aptana at times too.  For my use it perhaps is a little heavy for basic HTML work.  In those cases I often revert back to notepad++ or similar text editors.
