on contract with orange, might wait a few weeks to see what skodaphone do

I can't make up my mind if I want this or the Palm Pre when my contract runs out in August. I love my current HTC phone and the addition of Qwerty, WiFi and updated interface would make it near perfect, but the "cards" system on the Pre seems really thought through, camera is good quality with a flash and reviews have been really good.
I'd like to hear far more views on both before making up my mind. I'm sure I wouldn't be unhappy with this though, I still love my one that lacks WiFi and a keyboard.
Frankly I'm getting completely sick of all these new phones that are coming out. Thee was a day when I could just go by the Nokia N95 and laugh at people who had an iPhone or a Windows Mobile phone.
Now everyone is bringing out decent stuff and I have no bloody idea what to get when my contract runs out. TOO MUCH CHOICE
Just don't get anything orange as they meddle with phones firmware's to add their own take on the mobile interface.
I mean who buys a nokia to have orange's interface.
Not me that's why i sent it back under the 14 day returns policy.
Agreed. I tried to help a mate to upgrade the software on his N95 but as it was Orange it was locked down completely. My O2 N95 needed a quick de-brand and it was updated to a much faster, slicker and feature rich version in minutes. My mate is still stuck with his out of the box, out of date mobile.

I agree 100%
I'm still using this (http://www.nokia.co.uk/find-products/all-phones/nokia-5140), the guts are 2003, I got a new cover and keypad in 07, and they are still fine.
the battery(original) has only just started giving me less time per charge, sp maybe I should get another 1 for 4 quid

I have a pc tp play games and email, a TV to watch movies, a hi fi to play music*, so why on earth should I change phones?
*also applies to pc
It horrifies me to admit but the iPhone is finally beginning to look like a viable option. The N97 is sweet. The Palm looks amazing. HTC always make slick looking phones. I just have no idea which one to go for. i just know I'll pick on and then decide I should have gone with one of the others :eyebrow:
In my opinion the iPhone is not much of an option. It's a nice mp3 player, not a great camera, and is limited in a large number of ways. I mean pretty serious ways. They only just added copy and paste etc.
They're constantly working to lock down features on their phones. Many other phones using symbian, windows mobile etc have a community developing software for phones. The iPhone teams often have their hands full avoiding the new changes to lock the phones. It's nice if you only plan to use software they support and are willing to pay for software available free on other platforms, but I like freedom.
Must say it's a great interface, hugely popular and I've not used an interface as good as it. I love Apple hardware, I dislike their software practices.
so i am getting a new n97 delivered tomorrow.... just read lots and lots of reviews and there are some issues with video playback on the pro, everything else is even par, so free phone delivered tomorrow:D
I'm still uhming and arghing between the iPhone GS and the HTC Touch pro2. Kind of in Smilo's world atm, not sure which way to turn.

for anyone going to tea's bbq ill bring the n97 with me, so if you can hold off 3 weeks (i couldnt) then you can have a look at it then
Well, I'd be interested to see it anyway. Penfold should have his iPhone there, so all we need is someone to buy the HTC Touch Pro2 and bring it along and then we can run our very own dMw head-to-head review!

I'm still waiting on mobiles.co.uk to put up their Touch Pro 2 offers. They're available on Phones4U and dialaphone but not on mobiles yet :eyebrow:
I read some more reviews today and thought I'd share them.

Have you been approached with prices of the new version which has just come out?
I heard you can use it as a 3g dongle. Bye bye three internet seeing as o2 will give me unlimited traffic for Ã,£5 a month :D
I'm still on contract for a while yet.
I have a Three Internet dongle. It costs Ã,£5 a month for 1gb download. However I so rarely use it (perhaps once or twice a month) so it's more than enough for my needs.
When my contract's up for renewal I'll probably upgrade and ditch my dongle (sounds rather painful :eyebrow:)
got my n97 today and all i can say is NNNIIICCEEE:yahoo:

Likewise. Thanks for the links though, seems to be well liked.

Reply from mobiles.co.uk when I asked them 'why no TP2 offers?'
QuoteDear customer
Unfortunately the deals won't show on our website for another month or so as we will not be getting the phone within the next few weeks. As soon as the deals are confirmed we will post them on our website.
Regards
at least there are some deal out now
Anyone considered This (http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2009/07/15/review_phone_acer_tempo_m900/) yet?
Just mixing things up a little. Couldn't find Acer of mobiles.co.uk though, but it is available (http://www.clove.co.uk/viewProduct.aspx?category=0A394417-7597-41E6-9675-4D11F909908F&product=37065973-68C0-4BE6-8EEF-AD9296AEE4EB)
