Britain
While the dMr server is being fettled I'll be running a server on Friday evening (3rd July.(no significance in that!) a Tour of Britain night. Format is thus:
Five cars;
Alfa GTA
Abarth
Mini
Cortina
Elite
Five tracks;
Brands GP
Cadwell
Crystal Palace
Oulton Park (Island)
Goodwood
10 minutes practice
4 laps qualifying
10 lap races
Due to the messing around with routers, modems and the like I've got a dynamic dns address: finnglish.gotdns.com I've tried it out and it works! If anyone else would care to try it beforehand that would be nice.
Start at 7.30 proper time
No cash prizes, no points and no LVs!
The 4th is Saturday?

There's always someone isn't there? :sideways: Thanks BFC, I'd correct it but unfortunately I seem to have lost the ability to edit even my own posts :g:
Quote from: Doorman;281278I'd correct it but unfortunately I seem to have lost the ability to edit even my own posts :g:
I noticed that the other day. Some prodding suggests that you can only edit your posts until someone has replied to it. Once that has happened it is locked with whatever cockups you made. Don't know if that's a bug or expected behavior.
I can put my paranoia away then, it's not just me. :)
There's a 15 minute period for corrections then it's locked down.
Doh
Well I would have been there, but unfortunately I have a colleagueââ,¬â,,¢s leaving do to attend. If there are still people on, and I'm not too drunk (Ok, fat chance.) I'll have a pop on late.
Enjoy yourselves. :D
I've tried to find your server Ron, without success. I presume you put the URL in 'Friends' section and search from there, but I'm getting BA.
Quote from: Lameduck;281371I've tried to find your server Ron, without success. I presume you put the URL in 'Friends' section and search from there, but I'm getting BA.
I've only just put it up (19.05) URL goes in the blue button with a 'world' and a magnifying glass on it. :D
Thanks Ron, for a great nights racing :D
I like the formula as it gave close racing even to those who are relatively new to rFactor. Sorry that I only took part in 4 races (that includes one where I was beached and one where I retired after landing on the radiator grille) but HI wants an early start tomorrow
Yeah! cheers Ron, that was a fun night
'twas great fun. Frankly, six of us was more than I expected. Thanks for coming everyone. :D
Great racing, great fun :D
I like the format and the server was rock solid too. Thx again Ron.
If you want a giggle and you still have the replays check out my acrobatics at Oulton about 8:55 into the race replay :)
Hey everyone! I see you having fun! Unfortunatley, i still didn't manage to find some time... Hope to see you soon one day.
Are there any regular every-day "events" like it was some ~month or so ago?
Oran Park laser 10 laps, Wannadoo 10 laps, Bathurst 5 laps, Eastern Creek Laser 6 laps and Phillip Island 6 laps
Ford Escorts only
8pm start. Bring your own barbie and beer. Sheilas welcome. :D
Is this on tonight ? or Friday night ?
Quote from: declang;281687Is this on tonight ? or Friday night ?
That'll be Friday night.
doh ! :)
No other obligations this week, so I'll be there. :D
:woot2:
I'm hoping to be there too :)
I hadn't stopped to consider how many great tracks there are in Oz until I started thinking about the track list here and wishing we had time for Hidden Valley, Adelaide (1988), Queensland, Sandown, Surfers Paradise etc.
Maybe next time round eh Ron :D
Anyway here's a little taster from Oran Park - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRmSTOKLOTw (hit the HQ button)
Oh BTW can any of the admins add the Escort to the car list on the DMR server so we can practise before Friday, thx.
OK I have a favour to ask if its possible Ron please.
Can you configure the Phillip Island race tonight so that it runs at a Virtual time of between 18:30 and 19:00ish as the twilight sky here looks absolutely superb at that time. Just dark enough for lights to look good but not absolutely necessary and around 19:00ish the stars start to come out too, ahhh.....
(not the other tracks tho as they look better in sunshine)
Thx, Mark
:please:.....:please:.....:please:.....:please:.....:please:.....:please:
I'm OK with that but it means restarting the server. So it means Phillip Island will be last in the queue.
Don't plead, it's not manly.:)
Oh yeah I'm all for racing in the dusk / dark. Couple days ago it turned dark as me and Doorz were driving on Bathurst and it was awesome :)
I'm thinking of joining this little event tonight but I'm a bit bummed that it's Escort only. I don't like the Escort :sideways:

Thx Ron, I think that'll make a great and fitting end to the evening :)

I wasn't pleading, I just have Icon Tourettes :blink::blink::blink::blink::blink:
Something of a 'curate's egg' this evening, good in parts. The last race at Phillip Island was particularly romantic under the Southern Cross. :lmfao:
Some excellent racing. :D I joined a bit late, but had good battles in most races.
Roll on next time. :boxing:
Yes, some great racing again :), let down only by lack of contenders , come on people, just click Join :D
Quote of the night as we were screaming round Phillip Island in the dusk came from Doorz over Ventrillo - "Is that the Southern Cross up there?" - I nearly fell off the track.
Hardcore classic racing with Astronomy lessons, what more could you want :roflmao:

I'd be there but you need to make it "The Saturday Night tour". Work doesn't let me bring my wheel in for some reason:sad:

B@st@rds! Time to look for a new job :D
Only us old farts stay in on Saturday nights.
Yeah, was a fun eve, cheers Doors. I really enjoyed that dark race, it was surprising to see how much I rely on trees, things against the horizon etc to recognise where I am on the track. The effects of the headlights look really nice to when you drive through tire smoke left by a leading car. Impressive stuff.
looking forward to next one.

I can't find a Porsche 917 anywhere in the lists, I can only see 906, 911 and 914's, am I missing something???
Also which configurations of the tracks will be used and will the 20mins include quali time or not?
Thx, Mark

Sorry! :doh::doh::doh:
Damn, I figured you meant the 914, so I spent the evening driving that around the various tracks . Great little car though.
Yeah 906 will be good too. :)
Liking the new track
Count me in!
Love the vid of your roll Mark :) Also, coming hot off the heels of the discussion in the iRacing forums about the crappy sounds (F1 Lotus '79 that sounds like an angry wasp in tin can anyone? ), it was great to hear the HistorX mod in full swing.... It sounds awesome.
Got a new (old, but new to me) GFX card now, so i can run rFactor in DX9 mode with all bells and whistles turned on (Yay! night racing without a slideshow :yahoo:) so I'm looking forward to getting back on track and in vent with you fellas.
I used to race with someone called The Moose in something called nKpro once
Look forward to seeing you there Stuart, although I guess this means we're going to find it harder to get on the podium now, even without rolling :)

I'm so fickle, and i dont care. :lmfao:
Where'd everyone go :g:
Just me and Seany left at the end of Misano, and Monza never happened :crying:
Sorry about that Mark. I was a bit down tonight. Not a lot more I can say. Next week is another day.
Monza should have happened it was next in the rotation. Did you wait long enough?
Quote from: Doorman;282810Monza should have happened it was next in the rotation. Did you wait long enough?
The server was fine the track came up, I just meant that me and Seany decided it wasn't worth carrying on with just the two of us unfortunately.
Yeah Monza came on, worked like clockwork. I enjoyed the couple of races we had, I actually finished them this time :yahoo: :) .
How about tour of Germany next week, two laps of the Green Hell? :norty: :boxing:
Yeah, sorry Mark..after crashing out of the second race, and only three of us racing, i really couldn't be arsed with the last race.
I said goodbye...but i keep forgetting you're not in Ventrillo
Hopefully we'll get a few more in next week.
Sounds like a quiet night unfortunately
I'm still on my Hols, and wont make it this Friday coming either.
But the following week I'll be back.

Car: Porsche 911Cup

Joe, give it another go, I was fiddling and didn't realise you'd joined.
Ah, that's reassuring. :) Wondered why I lost connection. I just have to placate the wife then I'll be back.
Damn it!
I thought I'd have a little snooze at around 5 pm.....and woke up about 15 mins ago:doh: Unbelievable. Slept through two alarms:roflmao:
Sorry. I'd been having a blast practising with the 911's this afternoon. Was looking forward to racing tonight.
'twas a good bit of racing too! It did however, lead me/us to reconsider the format. Five tracks, 20 minutes apiece was a bit much, for me anyway. Maybe two tracks, one car, two races of 30 minutes? I don't know. Answers on a postcard. :)
Oh, and take more water with it. :eyebrow:
You'll like this one. :D
Cars: GTC-TC-76. Take your pick, loads to choose from.
Tracks:
- Spa Francorchamps 88 (Alright wise asses, I know it's in Belgium! But it's close enough. Sorry Obsolum :))
- Le Mans 1979 variant
- Rouen Les Essarts 1974-1994
Races start at 6pm and have X5 timescale so it would be prudent (haven't heard that word for a while, eh Gordon? :norty: )to purchase the
high beam headlights. Race length 20 minutes. If we start on time
8pm!, it shouldn't be too demanding on stamina (mine anyway) or time restraints. The way I see it, finishing unlapped will be a result!
Tell ya what.....(http://www.finnglish.co.uk/Stuff/avatar2.png) :woot2::woot2::woot2:
I'll be installing HistoriX tonight, let's see if I dare to show up on friday night. Still I think I'll not have much time for racing before september, but I want to try anyways. I also renewed the one year iRacing subscription to get extra 60$ for cars and tracks..

Floorball is a funny name, it's salibandy or sähly in Finnish. Innebandy på svenska. It's good exercise.
Having a small baby when already having a small kid, a dog, and a wife (!) demands a lot of the spare time, but now when the baby is bigger and has somewhat predictable habits, I'll be able to be spending more and more time with racing. We will get a new kitchen in august, so quite a many nights will go building it, but when that's done the life should normalize a bit. :yahoo:
Nice line up this week :) Should be great if we get a decent amount of people. I promise not to sleep through this weeks races :lmfao:
Come on peeps..lets get at least 10 of us in.
Get you! From sleeping beauty to Ra Ra girl, just like that! :lmfao:
I should be there, at least for a bit. I like the lots of cars option :thumb:
I'll be there
Well I was going to be there tonight but social events have taken precedence :D Friday/Saturday nights are not the best for racing for me.
A shame, I was looking forward to it and had been practicing with the Corvette for a laugh. Its powerful but stops and corners like an oil tanker! Best of all though it sounds brilliant.
I invited some guys I was racing with last night, don't know if they'll turn up but they had the right attitude, good fast racing but with consideration. We had some nice tight racing round Laguna in the 911's. One was called Dubstar and one Llumfern(?).
Anyway have fun.
Wow, this was great fun tonight. Thanks, guys. There was definitely some nice action going on. And the night racing really added to it. Wonderful. Thanks to all who joined.

Here is something interesting. Server not showing in list---Server USED to show in list---Difference?---New router(Ã,£90 D-Link)---Change back to 50year old router(30 bob Netgear)---Server reappears in list! Configs are, on the face of it, the same. At least I've not been able to discern a difference. So, in the words of the prophet, W-T-*?
P.S. Could that have anything to do with Damian's woes last night? :g:
Woe was me.
Connected ok initially, then computer crashed. When I tried to re-connect again.. connection timed out. But I could connect to other servers !!
All the British cars and all (very nearly) the British tracks. 15 minute races, no messing about, on to the next track, quick whizz round, another 15 minute battle 'til we all get bored. :norty:
Sounds like fun. I'll be there :boxing: Which cars are British though? There are obviously the Lotuses and the Austin but what others are there? :g:
Hmmmm...could be controversial, the 2.6 Capri was German, 3.1 was English, AC cobra? Austrailia was part of the empire back in the day so the Ford Falcon is british then?
I demand an enquiry :ranting2: or I'll settle for picking a car from what's in the list when I join which hopefully will include the 3.1 capri please thankew.
No Cobra (American) Can't have the 3.1 Capri without the 2.6 (nothing to be done about that) Oh, and no Ferraris (Italian, as is the Abarth and quite a few others)
The German connection could be levelled at the Escort as well could it not? :g:
EDIT: I have been reliable informed that the Escort is...BRITISH! :yahoo:

The Escort RS used a bodyshell from halewood, the cosworth 16V head on a kent block and were built at fords AVO site in Essex. I went through an Escort phase during my twenties, my mate had an earlier Lotus twink and it sounded the nuts blasting around the snake pass. I sold all my escort stuff just before the prices went crazy
I believe that the leather used on the Escort steering wheel was actually Italian so you shouldn't really be using it! :lmfao:
I borrowed my mums 1300 Escort when I was a lad and drove from home to Buxton and back, 12 miles each way, in about 25mins.
Google maps quotes 20mins one way. When I got home my mum asked where I'd been and I made the mistake of telling her. She said you can't possibly have done that in 25mins,
as the car sat pinging and ticking on the drive. I thought oh 'carp' and had to massively back down saying no, no, actually I didn't get all the way there, honest mum! :)
Hopefully see you tomorrow night. :)
I didn't even know there was a TVR in the HistorX mod  I'll have to check that out, I love TVR's. Even though I can't drive one to save my life but... they're awesome cars :D At least the more recent ones are.
Also, I say scratch the 3.1 Capri as it's without doubt the fastest car in the pack. I know what you're thinking, "you drove one the other night and you could hardly finish your races let alone win them!". You're right, but that's because I wasn't really focused on the driving and was actually deliberately kicking the back end out in every other corner. I love sliding that thing around :flirty: I just don't always manage to catch it in time :sideways:

Hi Doorz,
Happy Birthday by the way, kind of late.
Thanks for the entertaining, quick and useless answers :D
From what I've read it would require so much tweaking that I'm not compelled to join the fun any more... installing this stuff would probably take 1 month racing time equivalent! And 1 more month to make it work...

Haha! I'd be lying if I told you differently. There IS work to be done but it's worth it in the end. Look upon it as a 'project' :D

What are
you still doing in the LFS section? :flirty: LFS is old, move on! :D
On a bit more serious note, yes, it takes some tweaking to get the HistorX mod running to your liking, although it pretty much worked well right out of the box for me. I'm not sure about it running on your laptop, though :g: You definitely wouldn't be able to enjoy it in all its glory, and I'm afraid night racing - oh, such a blast!! - would be too much to bear for your laptop.
Then again, the HistorX mod isn't for everyone. It may not be your thing. I gotta say, though, that after spending time with the HistorX mod and netKar Pro LFS really does feel stale. It really isn't that great as most of the community on the LFS forum would have you believe. Not by a long shot. The days when LFS was a pioneer racing sim are long past and other sims are quickly catching up or have even left LFS way behind in some areas. The only thing LFS really does excell at is usability; the easy to use GUI, the automated skindownloading, the ease with which you join an online race,... It's all just very easy to do and it's what makes LFS so accessable. Just my opinion :)
I tend to agree with you.
I tried the NKpro demo some time ago, and could not race the FBM in LFS after that (dull boring bland...)
Then I tried to race Nkp online... and removed it from the hard disk.
LFS is excellent when I have time for online racing between 21:30 and 22:30 only, maybe twice a week.
I do not see much more racing time ahead for the next few months, so I'm afraid that getting into rF would further reduce that time. I do not want to spend these hours tweaking, I want to race!
Maybe when rF2 is out, who knows?
Quote from: obsolum;285457LFS stuff........
I'm right with you there Obs. LFS is actually way better in the usability stakes than most other sims on the market. But it's now lagging badly behind in the sim side of things. I have a feeling it will never catch up. I really hope it does though.
I'd be back to it in a flash if it had some physics updates, a graphical overhaul and updated track surfaces/new tracks.
Someone mention TVR? :norty: I'll be along :D
Mille, I felt the same after NKpro. I suggest you give this a shot, its very different to LFS and is a nice change of pace and racing on real tracks is just the icing on the cake.

A mention for Friday's foray. Good turnout and it must be said, some jolly good racing. A far as I was concerned anyway. Seany and I locked horns for a while till I did a Doorman (fell off). I learned something important as well, don't put Oulton Park Fosters C on the menu ever again, aaaaand... the Capri 3.1 is a doosie! :D

Quote from: Doorman;285610I learned something important as well, don't put Oulton Park Fosters C on the menu ever again, ...
Why, what's wrong with it? I enjoyed throwing the Escort round there and had a good battle with Moose :)
The only thing I would say is maybe not to mix the Escort and Capri with the other cars as they hugely outclassed them. Would be nice to see everyone trying to manhandle the TVR's or E-Types etc. :D
I don't think I'd have turned up if the Capri wasn't available, I see it as a handicap type of thing.
Quote from: XLR8;285629Would be nice to see everyone trying to manhandle the TVR's or E-Types etc. :D
Aaah yes, I said as much on Ventrilo that night :D Somehow I don't think many people would stick around long :g:
There is so much diversity in HistoriX that if you select one or two cars you're alienating 50% or more of your audience. Given that that audience is small compared to LFS we can't afford to do it. For my part, I take my competition from where I can. Winning really isn't important to me but having a good tussle is. Besides, aesthetically, it's nice seeing different cars on track.
:2cents:
You do have a point, but just because the HistorX audience is pretty small it's important that all the available cars are at least somewhat competitive. Otherwise you'll have 1 or 2 guys in really fast cars, a couple more in medium-fast cars and then a few more in slower ones, thus greatly reducing the number of opponents you can actually race.
I found those predefined car classes that you had on your server a while back to be very well balanced. They allowed for a nice diversity of cars on the track and there was never one that was far superior to the others.
Quote from: obsolum;285654Aaah yes, I said as much on Ventrilo that night :D Somehow I don't think many people would stick around long :g:
wusses  Best thing, I find, is having a proper go in a car I have never raced in because I thought it was crap. You always learn to enjoy it/how to drive it....mostly :)

Agreed.
If the choice is there i will always take the Escort...not because its fast, but because it's the car i most enjoy driving. I just love the way it handles. I was kind of hoping last Friday that a few more people would choose it so we could have some tighter racing.
I'll happily race some of the boats :P if that's all that available.
So..I'd rather see a single car choice or those nicely grouped classes we used to have. Certainly as long as we only have <10 people on the server anyway. Anything that facilitates closer racing has got to be good imo.
Don't get me wrong, I really like the Escort and Capri, but mixed in with other cars they just blow them away, so as other people have said above, you don't get such close racing. And good, fair, close racing is why I'm in DMR because you guys have the ability and attitude to make it fun :)
The last race on Friday at Donni was mainly a mix of Escort/Capri and it was great fun, so I'm quite happy to see a field full of those cars too. But also I think it's fun to try and 'tame' something that you don't normally drive.
As long as it's a level playing field it should make for better racing and that should increase the smile factor rather than alienating peeps IMHO :g:
It's nice of you two to lump us all together but the fact is whichever cars are on offer or if we all drive the same cars, there will always be two races in one and you know it's true. The cars are a small part of the equation it's the driver mix we have that dictates the level of competition.
A case in point was the nkp fTarget race last night. Four fast guys light out into the sunset(would have been five had not Tjeerd messed up somewhere!) and the rest of us follow along.
In any event I'll try to mix it up as best I can. I'm running out of ideas for the theme though. U.N next :D
There's an idea. If you feel there's two tiers of drivers how about a handicapping system like getting the faster drivers to choose the lower powered cars and vicky versa? That could be interesting. :g:

It's not a feeling, it's a fact. But you raise a VERY good point. I do believe you can add weight to selected cheats...doh! I mean faster people than me. :blush2:
/Scurries off to find out
EDIT: I'm back! Puff, puff. YES_YOU_CAN! :norty: :norty: :norty: This'll be interesting :woot2:
Me and my big mouth

In fact rFactor isn't more demanding than the other sims if you turn the settings down a bit. For me it's running way better than nKP while still looking pretty good to me. :) And, unlike in LFS, performance doesn't drop like a rock in bigger grids.
Hope you guys find a server format that you're happy with by the time I'm back on track! :D

Don't forget Canada. We have a few kick ass tracks. Toronto Indy, Montreal, Vancouver, and I'm sure theres a few others Dave can fill you in on.:D
PS: And if you do Canada Moose will feel right at home in his native habitat!
Canadia, hmm. :g: OK, I'll dig around. I'll mean people having to download stuff though.
I'll be back. :)
Lessee; as far as I can tell Canadia has:
- Edmonton. Situated on the apron of Edmonton's airport. The track is laid out by painting lines on the ground... :no2: Sorry.
- Toronto. A bit like Monaco without the yachts, rich folk or any elevation changes. Nor, it has to be said, charisma :no2: Strike two.
- Montreal. Not unlike Toronto in that it has walls that kill your engine but it has the saving grace of having some runoff areas of grass/sand BEFORE you hit the wall! It also has scenery that doesn't look like a precast concrete factory store yard. So...:yes2: There are two versions, the 1979 version which you'll have in the GPC79 folder or there's the 2008 version. Your choice. Links to follow
- And finally you have Mosport. Situated in Ontario it's got corners, hills, dips, grass and lovely weather! Bring the family for a great day oht. :yes2: :yahoo:
- For the rest of Canada's racing scene, if you're into short ovals you're spoilt for choice.
- Oh yes I forgot Trois Rivieres located in Quebec (Vive le Quebec libre! Remember that? What a stirrer!) Beautiful version. Just remember to turn left immediately after the archway! :norty:
(http://www.finnglish.co.uk/Stuff/tracks/Montreal_2008.zip)Montreal 2008 This would be my pick of the two Montreals
Trois Rivieres
EDIT: Links in main 'Tracks you'll need' thread
Just for info, a couple of useful sites for finding real world tracks, I've set these to search for Canadia tracks :)
http://www.etracksonline.co.uk/NAmerica/Canada/canada.html
http://www.trackpedia.com/wiki/Tracks_in_Canada
This is not to say that the tracks will have been converted for rFactor etc.
Check out the Active Mountain Raceway, looks like fun from the Gif, shame there's no sim version
What about this one for Friday, it's in the HOF and has 5star ratings - http://www.rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=Trois-Rivieres

If you care to check my posts ^^^ you'll see I've already included Trois Rivieres :flirty:
:D Good choice Mark. I think that'll do for the lineup. Now for the cars? My initial thoughts are Porsche 914 (the Volkswagen?), the Alpine and Elan. Open to suggestions along those lines

A shame the lottery doesn't work that way too eh :flirty:

What? What? :D
Sorry I was late to the party, I was having a meal with some mates in the pub
Unfortunately I was then a little over the legal limit for racing :D
Stu, I watched the replay of my roll from inside your car, that must have had you in stitches, and cleared the road nicely for you :)
Deetz, I think what you were apologising for was when I zoomed past you under braking, because I had already hit the wall and had a puncture and couldn't stop properly. So it's me who's sorry for that.
A shame because the first 2 laps of that race were superb.
AHHHHH.... Drunk driving a truly Canadian pastime!!:roflmao:
I'm sure it just made the Canadian trip that much more authentic:D Hope you had fun guys.
We were waiting for you then some bright spark worked oht the time difference and figured you've got a lousey boss that won't let you haave Friday afternoons off.
Nice to see your face appear on the nKP server though. :D

You've given me a great idea for next Friday. Lottery night. :) I'll put all the tracks on the server and give each one a number. Then the winner of the first race gets to pick a number and I load up the appropriate track. :woot2: Whaddya think?
Sounds good to me! :)
Are you saying that no-one will know what numbers refer to which track? (apart from you of course)
Sounds fine to me as long as everyone has all of the tracks from here -
http://www.deadmen.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=27353.
Otherwise we'll be losing people :)

I'll only use the tracks we already have.
Would anyone be up for some rFactor on Saturday nights as well/instead of Friday? We miss our Canadian friends don't we boys? :crying:
I would be into that!!!!:D:woot2:
YES!! :yahoo:
That would be nice
:roflmao::roflmao::roflmao: That's three of us then.
So, tonight and tomorrow night it will be Lucky Dip.
It'll work like this: First track will be whatever it is at the time. The winner of that race gets to pick a number between 1 and 10. I then look at my list and load the corresponding track---Whatever it is! Also, to teach the winner not to be such a smartarse, he'll be given a 35kilo weight penalty. :norty: Should he win the next race that will be doubled...and so on. HE WILL LEARN!
CARS:
Elite
Cortina
Abarth
Alfa GTA
Minis
Be on vent about 7.30-8.00. I have a feeling this will be fun. :D
Oh yes, there is a mystery track although it IS in the main list.

Sounds fun, I'll be along, hopefully.
Main socialising for this week has been postponed til Saturday. So I will be there tonight.
Although I may manage a spot of socialising between now and 7:30  :D
Well didn't that turn out well? :D An absolutely terrific nights racing. A few videos to come, I'm thinking. :)
Most definitely some awesome racing. Anyone not there really missed out :)
Thx again to Stu, that race at Falkenberg was the most intense, sustained, bumper to bumper racing I think I've ever had in any sim! :D

as the kids would say.... That race was full of win! :D
..as was the Oran Park race.. another amazingly close finish with Mr Deetz.
Cracking stuff, and great to see good sized grids. Top nights racing.
Yep, lots of fun yesterday. Let's hope we can get the same crowd in next week! :)
HI guys. I see you are having lot of fun. I've assembled my seat and wheel, but can drive only offline, no broadband anymore...
Yesterday i tried to connect on one of the nkp 1.1 servers, had ping of 100 - 200 ms :crying:
Are you racing every night? Maybe i'll try to pop in at some of the practice sessions to lag around the track a bit
Then i'll leave you to enjoy...
I'm really missing great races we had back in May - that was the last time i had some online fun...

200ms ain't too horrendous. Nordschleife(HistoriX) is on all this week from about 7pm BST. We miss you too chook. :)
Come back Smithy, we miss you :crying:
A ping of 200 shouldn't be a problem. 300 is where you should get worried. Give it a try, would be good to see you back on track.
Cor blimey! 25 minutes of The Ring which turned out to be 34 minutes, and I feel like I've been IN the ring with someone of the pugilistic persuasion
There's only a couple of places you can put your eyes back in their sockets and breathe! But very satisfying (in a manly way)
So.. did you decide to swap to Saturdays or not? Tonight I'm going to a party, but I'd very much like to do some racing tomorrow! :D rFactor or nKP, doesn't matter. (I sorted out the framerate problem in rFactor, so that's no longer an issue)
I'm hopin for Saturday as well!!
Tonight can be either nKP(F2000) or rFactor I'm easy. You say.
Saturday, rFactor. I'm thinking the slower cars at Nordschleife because we got joined by a lot of people that thought they could hack it in fast cars but left after the first few corners! (Mouthy Gumby. :roflmao:) So Cortinas and friends eh?
20 minute races makes for two laps. 25 minutes was too long for most.
Ooh yes, rFactor tomorrow then! :D Looking forward to it!
The party is already starting.. just outside my room! :lmfao: Better go join them, see you later!

Oh God!
Which server will we be using? Boogle + me are on the dMr server now. (Spa) Will stay there until further notice. :)
That would be 77.108.129.45 - the DMR rFactor server.
It should be finnglish.gotdns.com - which is Doorman's server.
Although I don't see it when I search for the server :g:
Some sreenshots from last night. Had to link because I don't have permissions to attach on this forum.:g:

Thanks guys for your support... I was rather joking about it.. Well there is some true in every joke
I will try to connect sometime, but we all know for close racing 5th of a second ping is too much. In racing that's considered like a big gap.
