sod water coolin my pc, my pc now has somuch fan power that it may take off, at home i only have 2/5 running [that includes the heatsink] and one of the fans has a blue flashing light in it. which is cool.
I like that time table....
could we pos drop "play ut" for another "drink beer"? :-)
10. buy garden hose, attach end A to beer barrel, attach end B to Gob, simultaneously drink and play CS until pass out.
Thats just like playing at home for me :-)[/quote]

Yeah, thats the one thing that drives me nuts, the noise!
my only noisy fan is my heatsink 1, that will b quieter soon as soon as i get around 2 sum maintenence
the fan in hte top WAS very quiet at i12, i got it home and now it rattles, i blame tutonics dad for puttin the pc's in the boot and driving over speed bumps to fast!"
oh, talking of custom pc's I've got loads of bio-hazard stickers made. Any size and colours in white, black, red, or etched glass. Let me know if anyone is interested and I'll bring em to the lan. (Or post if you're impatient!)
Oh, and I'll need sizes too. Small cost to them though (about 10p for all colours 20cm across except etched glass which will be 25p) Bigger sizes will cost more.
And I can cut any stickers you want if you supply me a vector graphic image (Adobe illustrator preferred)
Bring them along to the LAN - I'm sure that there'll be some interest there....

I'm pondering the whys and wherefores of one of those doohickeys. Are they as good as they sound?
Exactly which doohickeys are you on about?
The aluminium case is luverly....
The Zalman is fantastically engineered, works real well and real quietly (it also comes with variable speed fan control)....
The biggest drop in noise was when I switched my PSU from the bog standard 'whining hurricane' model, to an Enermax 431W EG465AX-VE. Absolutely marvellous is all I can say. Incredibly quiet, really well ventilated AND variable speed fan control so that if your case doesn't need the extra cooling you don't have to have the fan at max! Very highly recommended.
The sub-25db fans weren't needed in the end as the fans in the Lian Li are quiet enough and all of them are controllable in terms of their speed. (The case has a nice switch on exterior to decrease or increase the fan speed according to temperature) So the fans ended up in my Dad's machine and they made a significant improvement....so much so that he asked me to get him a Zalman flower and an Enermax PSU as well!
I work from home, in a small-ish room with 2 PCs, a network laser printer, copier, colour scanner/printer, fax machine, a 100W bulb,2 60W desk spots and 2 peeps. So the room is full of heat generating electrical stuff and my machine is basically on all day every day - and is 'used' quite hard. It then handles my gaming for several hours every evening. During all this time the CPU has not gone above 49 degrees, the motherboard has not gone above 36 degrees - and this is with the fans set at a moderately low speed....
I thought it was money well spent..... and my ears agree with me. If you have any more q's then please feel free to ask them here, or pm me.

WOW! I only expected 'yeah it's OK'. I think I'll get one then. :D
Thats TL, on your sayso I've ordered the Zalman CNPS6500B-Cu Should get it Tuesday. I've just put some round IDE cables in this morning. Got a hell of a fright when it wouldn't boot 'put the goddam boot disk in' message! I fear I was a bit ham fisted and dislodged the HD lead
I bought some spangly round HD cables yesterday too. They're UDMA 133, extra long and see through, how much yours cost? Mine were £6 for the short one and £8 for the long one.
/me engages cheapskate buy things cheaper than everyone else mode :P
:( £15 from PCWorld. Black and not at all spangly. I couldn't get the shorter one, Still, it's made a lot more room for my new toy. :D
