Title: COD4 Tonight
Post by: Armitage on August 24, 2009, 11:05:57 AM
I may not get on tonight, Clare is in hospital today for a small op and the way the NHS runs i'm not sure if she will be out today.

Can an Admin look at swapping the game from public to Fish hook @ 8.30 / 9.00 ish if we are full. Just make sure everyone has backed up there profiles and you spam the forum details to all the joe publics before everyone leaves.

Cheers guys

Has the loading loop problem been sorted then?
I got to play one map and then got stuck in a loading loop, the only way out was to end CoD in Task manager.
If it's still dodgy we'll lose a bunch of players.

I was just in checking it, and to me, the loop problem still were there. So if we are moving to Fishhook, we need to sort that out.

Talked to Blunt just now too, and even if he did a system restore the problem still stands.

Fish Hook IS looping and needs fixing. So if somoene can take a look at it, as I cant do anything from where I am..

And GL with the op today Arm.

How many times did you let the loop go?
With me after 2 or 3 loops I finally get in.

Sorry I couldn't join, as some of you may know, I have been having ping problems the last few days which means I can't join any COD games, HLSW was saying the ping was 1000-2000, tried to join a few times but no joy :crying:

The only servers i can join is CSS, L4D and NT, this seems to be down to the quality of the BT line which Virgin say "yeah, it's really bad, but there is nothing we can do about it, really sorry" :sideways:

Although this morning my ping seems more stable, so i hope this is only a temporary thing.

Hope the op went well Armitage

Some people were saying something of lag, R4ng3r who had problems.
Can it not be a portproblem?

BTW, we didn't play the new maps yesterday as people still don't seem to know how to backup their profiles.

I did notice that even after playing some of the custom maps last week my profile was fine and had kept all my rewards and stuff.

Just had a chat with Dewey.
It might be better to setup a complete new thread about how to backup profiles in XP, Vista and other versions of Windows.
These are the files you are looking for on your pc that need backing up rather than giving explicit file paths to folders that may or may not exist on PC's.

Just say these are the files you need to back up, search for them then copy the folder they reside in.

Suggestions?

Well I think that the help section has it covered and I have posted on the Monday night post a link to it.

I suggest we also add a message to the public to tell people to back them up!!!
