All,
We are testing a few changes on Coldstore at present. It's a server side mod so should be transparent. It may or may not remain on there dependent on how it goes. We will *not* be making any changes to the Meatlocker server instance.
The changes that you should see are;
QuoteSides are now maxed at 5v5
Zombie hordes are 50 in size instead of 30.
Smoker tongue range increased 25%
Smoker pull is almost instantaneous
Survivors being dragged accelerate much faster (other survivors cannot catch up to them, but are instead forced to attack the smoker)
Better chance of pulling a survivor who is running around a corner
Incapped survivors can crawl
Hunter claw does 8 instead of 6
Max hunter pounce damage is 50 instead of 25. This scales correctly, so what is normally a 20 damage pounce is still a 20 damage pounce, not 40. For more than 25, you'll have to go pretty high.
You can have to up 3 smokers and 2 boomers. This way, the survivors never know what they are up against.
Tanks are 7% faster.
This is essentially the 'hunter' mod that is doing the rounds. Please do leave feedback here and we'll see how we go.
Interesting, sounds like it'll be quite a challenge for the survivors.
I look forward to testing this :)
Sounds a bit mental, should be fun tho!
Nobody has mentioned the crawling survivors. It's the best bit for me....watching someone crawl away and having a quick swipe with a hunter now and then. That will no doubt make me chuckle.
You kidding? Big pounces are gonna be my new obsession!
And Yes, I was very careful typing that sentance.
5 vs 5 sounds fun.
Sounds good, anyone up for a go tonight?
Only early in the evening but I'll see who shows up.
BTW, I've heard 6vs6 is even possible.

It does more than that, but I want to keep a tight rein on it...I don't like carnage and this server is mine, mine I tell you!!

Ok, we'll keep the carnage to a minimum, and maybe build up to 6vs6 if we can prove that we can be good.
Sounds like complete insanity. I LIKE IT!
Not around tonight though :crying:Cider night tonight.
I like bits of this MOD, e.g. Smoker tongues and larger hordes.
But the two tanks is a bit much. If we can disable that I think it would be fun. Two Tanks is a killer unless you have loads of Survivors.
Completely agree.
I'll see if it can be changed.
On a slight tangent there is another mod installed that allows some random mini-games. Essentially 'tag' and 'hunter races'. There are details in the admin section as to how to run it, and it's entirely server side, but does require some admin intervention so is not a supported config at this point.
I may try and have a bash later this week, but it's for smaller numbers.
With regard the mod, we may be able to apply just the max players piece and see what happens.
You can get the new map from here (http://195.110.8.178/coaldblood_010909_1547.zip)

The old one on the forums doest not work.
Ok, before everyone gets their knickers in a twist, here's where we are.
The mod is removed but there are some remnants.
Smoker tongues have extended range.
Spawns of infected allow duplicates so don't be surprised to get double tanks.
Hordes are bigger and somewhat harder.
Meatlocker is still vanilla and will remain so.

Are you sure? Do you mean this one (http://www.deadmen.co.uk/forum/showpost.php?p=288786&postcount=26)?

I used this one and i think its an older version as it 25mb smaller and also has a string error when you try and load it up with it. Using da's link however it works perfectly
I used this one (http://www.l4dmaps.com/details.php?file=1547) last night, without any problems.
Oh, mind that ledge GhostMjr...

String errors are normally fixed by either (as you rightly say) getting the right version map OR, and this is much easier in some cases, restarting Steam.
There is a slighty different version, when i installed the map from the forums the other day i did get the string error and restarting steam didnt work. A download from the link i found did, i wonder what was in the update :sideways:
Maybe FTP'ing my download to the forums caused some kind of corruption? Go to the source my young man.
It's just that l4dmaps wasn't responding when we were messing about so I uploaded my version.
OK it's a fair cop. Society is to blame. I done it! :narnar:
