Title: What goes around.....
Post by: Lameduck on September 01, 2009, 07:34:13 PM
It's that time of year when we've had a bash at all the cars in LFS and its time to start again.

First off the UF1. So where are we going to run it? We've already done the smaller courses with this under-powered tin-top, so its time to see if we can expand its horizons.

If you get time to test a few circuits before Thurs night, post your thoughts here, so we can take the xxxx :roflmao: and generally belittle your ideas :lmfao:.

I've already suggested RallyX as we have'nt had an RX for a long long time, to be held at Fern Bay (FE6?) but Jamin poo-poo'd the idea as UF1 lacks enough power .

He suggested WE1(R) or KY2 where the WR's are 2:20.84 and 2:27.57 respectively. Both tracks have their merits, (in my eyes, a long straight where one can avail oneself of light refreshment) but what do you guys think?

Ben also suggested that we reset the Airio points table after Thurs night which I think is A GOOD THING.:D

What about Blackwood carpark? Ive got one cone so if someone else has a jumper or something for the other end, we'll be good to go. :lmfao:

ok, ive just tried those three mentioned for two laps each with ten AI. Westhill might be ok if you can fill the server but otherwise i think its just to plain. I'm sure i only had to lift off the gas twice. I seem to remember the FBM got abit much there after a few days for the same reason.
The KY2 was the better of those two IMO.

I did like the Fern Bay rallyx though. Maybe the lack of grip makes up for the lack of power? Lets face it, the car is slow anywhere so its always been about holding the corner speed which is trickier on the mucky stuff.
Also, as there is always 'just a little rubbing' in rallyx:boxing:, these things dont fly off into the rhubarb when nudged. I think it could be good fun. Especialy after the walls of doom this week, it might be good to let ones hair down so to speak, for those of us that still have any :flirty:.

Why not try a layout?  I have a few that are quite good if you want. One that I have is a really nice,  I knicked it off the CR boys:D

Hey, I just tried the UF1 at FE RallyX ...... and it was a hoot :D

I hardly ever drive rally, but this was great fun.  Tried a race against 19 AI - too bad they're soooo slow.  Is the UF1 always so impervious to damage from collisions with other cars??  It could get damaged by barriers etc, but I found it very hard to do any damage in collisions with the AI.

Only down side is that the cars handle collisions so well people might threat it as BnJ type race :norty:
