Zoks gone Cyprus for a week Doorman but he will read the forum when he gets back, I'll remind him. I've read it and it makes sense. I expect in another week more problems will have been resolved by people NOT employed by Valve/Steam

You will need to go into your cstrike folder that is located in steam > steamapps > 'your email' > counter-strike > cstrike

Create the folders 'Models', 'Sounds', 'Sprites' and 'Maps'

If you weant to use custom player models you will need to add another new folder within models called 'Player'

I downloaded some of them and installed them. When I went to look at the results the Deagle was the only one that worked! The game wouldn't start with the 'p' models in although the deagle 'p' was installed. The AK47 (VERY nice!) would only show left handed, yes, you can swap hands but that's messy. So, all in all a bit of a disaster. 1.6 is not ready to accept custom models yet.  :(

'sound'

If you still have 1.5 installed then check there, it uses exactly the same directory folder for models, sprites, wad's etc.

If you want all your 1.5 custom models just copy em straight over tho some have problems in 1.6 as i found out when installing some new ones :(. At the moment im going to install the fusion pack too see what it looks like.

to fix the L/R hand swapping thing

you either need to replace EVERY model with a 1.5 custom one

or decompile the old models, flip the animations and mesh and recompile

simple if you know how:D

To make it a bit easy for some people who still don't know how.

Here is some info for you:

Go to your folder where you installed your steam.
Like: C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\\counter-strike\cstrike

In that folder you don't see the normal thing like in cs 1.5.
So you have to make some of them.
see picture
(http://www.counter-strike.nl/i/p/906.jpg)

1 maps folder: place there your bsp file and steam will activate it for you.

2 Model folder: You can just put them in there and it should be k.
For your player models you have to make a new folder within the folder models. And name it "player" and them make some subfolders for the next things:

arctic
gign
gsg9
guerilla
leet
sas
terror
urban
vip

So you have to put your vip model in the subfolder vip.

3 sprite folder: place there your sprites and steam will accept them.

4 Sound folder: Place there your sounds and steam will accept them. Steam will also use that map for the sounds you downl.

Thanks Menno, I allready saw it on the CIGSforum.
I'm not going to change any of my models (thinks back at 1.5 when I installed other models and they messed my CS up).

I've just now made up a pack of the best (imo) of CS-Ns models. To save you trawling through teh site, download from the leech and bung the whole 'models' folder in......well you know where! The only drawback I have found is the C4 it's left handed and the writing is round the wrong way. But even so it's still a huge improvement on that default piece of poo.
Enjoy.

Talking of the bomb in my fusion 12 cant beilive how much has changed everything has the sounds etc completely different. Even the bombs led is white. Glad i got it tho and would recommend it even though some of the models have been taken from other people a lot of the other stuff is not and very nicely done.
