QuoteLogin Queue:
Waiting....The server is full.
Position in queue: 988/988
Estimated wait time: About 1hr 43 minutes.
Thank you for your patience.
Not a good start when you consider this is the Headstart program just for Collector's Edition owners, god knows what it will be like when the normal edition owners can join too.
I am sorely disappointed to be unable to login given what must be a very limited population.
Now given up on the queue and will come back to it later tonight when some of the people go to bed.

Same here TL....waiting 1 hour i was on but can't find any off us bugger..:ranting2:
You sure those peepz will go to bed TL??
Aye, enough will anyway. Just a great worry if they are struggling with almost 2 hour queues with a limited population. Imagine what it will be like on the 25th when everyone else joins! If this is what will become normal then I will not be renewing my subscription, simple as that, I am not playing a game where from the point I want to play it I need to queue for over an hour to log in.

And so it begins... :narnar:
Well, I got in, found Armitage too. Now to level and get the Legion set up.
Ncsoft website is not accessible either atm so the XP bonus items are not available as you cannot assign them to your character. Grrr.
well there were a few of us on..... VERY laggy lots of clipping issues

I don't think the population is as limited as you think. This was not just Collectors edition players but all preorders, some 400,000 last I read. It wouldn't surprise me if those preorders accounted for 75% of Aion's player base over the next 6 months at least. That every single one of those players wanted to play on the first day should come as no surprise.

fyi the bonus items don't come out till 25th, if you "missed" the proper news of their last week.
I got in on the second attempt I made.
Around 23.00 UKtime there was mayor lag and as I still had to work the next monring I decided to leave.
Lunares, Dannage me and Boon were teaming up nicely and there was also another team I believe (Sheepy and such).
Not sure if Lumi got to play alot though as he seemed to have a ping straight away.
am I the only one that's finding this funny as hell.. I'm visualising the queue now.. :D
(sorry, couldn't resist although I did hold back quite a bit which for me is a definate accomplishment. Can I be an admin yet? lol)
Victim of its own success NF, sort of like when the WON servers went down back when CS was really popular. I haven't seen queues since though, so it is probably as was suggested, everyone with the game all trying to log on at the same time as it was the very first day of release. Personally I played a different game whilst I was queued for a slot on the Aion realm.
Which one was that TL? Patience?
Sorry, bad joke I know.
I only had some lag yesterday around 23.00 UKtime and Jim had some spikes.
Got to say that connection goes fast now.
There was a reply I just found about the queue's.
Here it is;
I'm going to disagree with anyone who is saying that we've had a "bad launch". It's been fantastic. So many players logging in at once, and our servers are going strong. Edit: We've seen a couple of disconnect errors (Triniel is an example), but overall I think we've had pretty good stability.
A separate matter is the one about queues. There are queues, yes, and the ones of the most popular servers are long. One of the easier decision any development team makes when developing a game is what user amount to optimize it for. Aion was designed to run good with low, medium or high amounts of players, but as with any game -- not too many at the same time. That doesn't make sense from any perspective. The game would then be designed to cater best to masses of people present only during sub-1% spike time spans of the game's live service, and during these initial rushes of players logging in the concurrency would skyrocket if we didn't put some type of limit on it.
Our queues were implemented to nurture Aion's long-term health. We don't want to see a scenario where servers get beaten up, left shaking out of fear on the sidewalk, already during the first hour. We don't want to see a scenario where we put too many servers online resulting in a barren wastelands of empty worlds once the initial rush settles down. We're dynamic in the way we manage our servers, and we want to be open about this. If we see that queues are still long in a while, we'll look into opening up new servers; we'll look into tweaking maximum concurrency and maximum queue size limits. You will be able to log in - perhaps not right away - but the queues will settle down.
I've played MMO's for a long time, just as many of you guys have, and I've witnessed queues before. I'm an Aion player just as you and I'm witnessing them now. I know how annoying it is to wait, I know that seeing that hour-number tick down all too slowly is annoying, but I've also come to understand the importance of the queues. They're there in the beginning to make sure that your server's got a large, healthy population mid- and long-term, and that's an investment I'm personally willing to make.
Edit:
People will disagree with this, yes, I was fully aware of that before I made the post. I decided to post it anyway to get our point of view out there. While it is ridiculous waiting for 8 hours in a queue, queues are a good thing. Also consider that the algorithm calculating the queue times does make is skewed due to the special nature of launch and it not having much history to base numbers on. Essentially: They are there for a reason and the system will not go away. I'm asking around to see if there's anything else we can do to alleviate the situation, but I also wanted to explain why we're doing this.
ROFL
And I thought *I* wrote PR puff lol

That is brilliant. I keep looking for the tongue-in-cheek smiley that should accompany such a statement but can't see it anywhere.

yes, and count yourself lucky that we've managed to stick you in such a long one.
What a load of tosh. I sympathise with you
Where is this from Pete? I wanna go offer him a job

At launch I was nr 987 lol, though it said 60 min wait, I logged on within 3 :yahoo:
even disconnected 4 times, and could rejoin quite fast too.

I actually remember that..
Hope things get better for you folks soon.
nah they wont so loggon back to WoW ppl :D
(not that WoW is Lag free but havent had a que of 900+ ever sofar :roflmao:)
Haven't seen a queue yet since release! :D
Quote from: b00n;290629Haven't seen a queue yet since release! :D
Same here but also didn't see one at the start. :flirty:
@ Gijs, they opend the servers at once and as there were quit a few people hopping on instantly it had some problems.
I think they could have gotten around it by just silently opening up the servers instead of doing it all in once.
Ahwell, game on.
Quote from: b00n;290629Haven't seen a queue yet since release! :D
Excellent.
I can see their point about underpopulating too many servers as it's a subject close to our hearts
I'm sure they'll get the balance right....it was more the insinuation that it was planned and that queuing was good which was so puffy.
And so it begins again...new folks around have too wait 1 hour and 57 min...:sideways:
I hope this queue issue is solved fast. It is not fun needing to wait for over an hour to be able to get in.

Aye if it stays this way if you wanna login then im DEFFO done with this game sick off it allready,,
ah cmon, what did you expect.
Just give it some time, they are busy setting up new servers, wait and see, queues will go down.
Actually, I expected that allready today as the normal game is out now.
I got home from work, started Aion and didn't have a problem.
I knew people were still downloading the game and such so I had to get in quick.
I reckon they'll set up a few more servers soon and then you'll be fine again.
