Title: Change in Raid roster?
Post by: Azunai on October 06, 2009, 11:11:57 PM
While my rant after thursday's raid seemed to wake people up - both sunday's and tonight's raid were a big improvement to what had become standard up to then - I do think we can do with 2x10man ToCs on thursdays, like we did that one time.

Added to this I think we should keep the lock on Ulduar25 extended for now as it showed that we were DEing/offspec rolling even for Vezax loot. Sunday's raid also showed that people know the fights by heart now and perhaps with Thorim as exception I think it will become rather futile to keep running it over and over. So what I suggest is keeping Ulduar open until Yogg hits the dirt and doing ToC25 on sundays. Once Yogg is dead it might be an idea to switch to ToC25 exclusively and then ToC25 Heroic after that. Reason is that Icecrown is itching closer (official preview is already up) so I think it would be cool to get stuff done with by now.

Thoughts?

I entirely agree with extending Yogg, we had the gear for that encounter months ago, so just a case of managing the tactics. I think we should get 2 or 3 full Ulduar clears in before we start ToC 25, but you are correct Icecrown is knocking at the door! I must say 2x ToC10 sounds like fun, although I'm not sure how the rest of the guild will take it. But doing fights on the often much easier 10 man is a good way to learn tactics for the more complex 25 man version, even taking into account extra mechanics for 25.
I suggest we have a pop at ToC heroic 10 man first, maybe on an off night, to judge how much it will push us.
Ultimately you point of time being short is something that needs to be on our minds, so my thoughts are 2-3weeks more in Ulduar with at least 2 Yoggy kills, then switch to ToC 25  as priority

the 2x10 man TOC run is a good idea i think cos the Triumph emblems are the best way to gear up atm..and we have ToC10 pretty much on farm id say.

Ofcourse still need the kills on the last 2 Bosses of Ulduar25 if not for lewt then just to have done it once at least :boxing:

Shout if you want a chat about YS.  So much could be typed but a TS session is easier.

I think it was while you were away. Anyway we had a 2x10man ToC once on a thursday and all the partakers were very enthousiastic about it. Hence the idea :)

2 x 10 man does work very well and we do struggle for numbers on Thursdays so I'm happy with this idea.
