RPS have written a nice preview for the co-op mode, check it out: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2009/10/13/hands-on-with-borderlands-co-op/
Looks like a cracking good time, I'm tempted to pre-order on Steam...
With you on this one Tutonic, myself and Ranger are going to get this and give it a bash it looks a right laugh and the Coop sounds a lot of fun :)
We had a go last night --- very promising! :)
Short story - think of (the excellent) Fallout 3 done with a co-op four player mode. Lots of fun...
Another fair comparison is Left 4 Dead: If you liked L4D but *didn't* like being forced to play the girl character (!) Borderlands allows you to chose any mix of teh four basic character types - also, the mission longevity is a lot better than L4D too (lots more hours of playing before you get bored)!
One fly in the ointment - no dedicated server (it's P2P) and worse, the early release seems to be a big buggy (surprise, surprise) and wouldn't allow us to create a hosted game because of port/firewall issues...
LUCKILY - the solution was to download Game Ranger (http://www.gameranger.com/) (P2P lobby host creation service --- free!). This worked great - allowed us to create a lobby, link to each other as friends, the host makes a room, the players join. Just works!
Gameplay was fun...But am still learning the keys! :)
Borderlands rocks! The best new game I've played this year (which isn't much of a recommendation I know as its been fairly bleak on the games front).
The SP is good the coop is a lot of fun! 4 player only.
I am enjoying Borderlands alot.
Give me a shout on Steam if you fancy some co-op :)
We've been using Game ranger to setup coop play - whats your steam name - ill add you as a user?
I you search for tutonic@enemydown.co.uk, it should find me.
Sorry tutonic, haven't been back to this thread for a while and for anyone else thinking they would like a new game they can play sp or coop - and if you like guns, ranking up, etc this game is awsome.
Having lots of coop fun - hours of gameplay, doesn't need a fast pc to play etc.
Decided to try the game also, alot of fun in my opinion.
Guts and bodyparts flying in every direction
For the Danes - nice review of it in Troldspejlet. I was tempted.
For anyone wanting to coop at least 2 of the BIG guys are generally on most nights, add them to ingame

Most of us are on 2nd walkthrough - but looking to start again from scratch with different characters until more dlc is available.
New DLC available:
"The secret armory of general Knoxx"
Ã,£6.99 from steam
http://store.steampowered.com/app/50110/
I really must fire this up again, I got it for Ã,£14 from Zavvi before Christmas and played it after install to see what it was like, I liked it, but for some reason I haven't partook since.
I'll need to patch it and have another play, then think about the DLC's then.
I've been getting back into Borderlands recently - I never completed it the first time round.
Give me a shout on Steam if you fancy some co-op funtimes :)
Borderlands is on steam sale @ Ã,£6.79 (66% off), Today only! Bargin!

And while you're at it, pick up the 3 DLC's for Ã,£2.14 each.
Fun game, but I have the DVD version and so can't partake of General Knoxx at Ã,£2.14, will have to get it for Ã,£6.30 fro the 2K store. :(
Steaming at the moment, will be on during the week to check out the gazillion guns.
I got myself a copy of this and the General Knoxx DLC while it was on offer on Steam. Also grabbed myself a copy of Metro 2033, so if you see me on Steam on either and want a co-op game of borderlands, give me a shout. Either drop into someone else's game or start a fresh one.
This is a genuinely excellent game. Though since I bought the DLCs I haven't really played it. I went into the zombie one first and didn't find it too fun. Keep meaning to try the others.
Didn't like Roxxi's one too much, but General Knoxx's (sp?) is defo a good proper expansion pack, especially if you want lots of guns :thumb:
Bought it, like it, a bit of Diablo hack n slash levelling meets Mad Max. Looks like a loooong, too linear but gun-happy story line.
New DLC available to download (as of yesterday) from Steam called "Claptrap's Robot Revolution"
Downloading it now :)

Keep us posted - currently a happy level 32 on his second play-through. Still have multiplayer to try out.
Played quite alot of it this weekend, and enjoyed very much, it has some good humor in it as well with the clap traps, lots of good weapons too! worth it for 6 or so quid :)
