Anyone here in dMw with experience in identifying chilis? I have one here, hoping is a Red Savina, but it just doesn't look right... and can't find others that looks like it... I can send pic. It came from a a stock of all red chilis.
Post the picutre, we have the chance to make someone feel pain in which we are always interested.

Pain in some sense is the goal :D. As strong as possible, but I fear this chili has close to no Scoville... I prefer Habaneros but they are a bitch to find and I am not going to garden away in our one-room tiny flat :)

(notice my very leet time of snapshot)
reminds me a bit about Habanero (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Habanero_chili)
or if its a scotch bonnet ur in trouble!!!!

Difficult to judge scale, but from the pictures it is closest to a habenro or scotch bonnet, but then if the scale is misleading ti could just be a bell pepper!

It is about 4 cm tall, slightly more in width... considerably smaller than a regular bell. Also, the particular shape is quite odd and the colour is more pure red, than the picture shows.
My best guess is Red Salina or Scotch Bonnet. Habaneros I have used quite a bit, and such it is not. Well... hm... will try and go taste the damn thing later today and see :ninja:

Right, I started eating it like an apple. It was like a bell pepper on the outside but got nice and warm closer to the middle. A bit like how a regular chili is strongest near the top, rather then the tip. It was more warm than burning. A slowly increasing fuzzy strength. It has a sweet flavour to it. I love it!
It is less than a regular chili in strength in my opinion. My gf disagrees whole-heartedly though. We used the remaining three-quarter for a full wok-size of food for more days, total amount probably enough for a dinner arrangement for 6-8 people, and it was too strong for her (I believed her when she got tears in her eyes :norty:).
So I have no idea really. I eat stronger food than her, but we are not usually that much apart.

Go down the pub, you'll probably need it on tap if that "heat" scale is right.

It's a chili Jim, but not as we know it.

Captain's log, star date 43645.1. We... have encountered... a strange plant! We ate it... and... it was pretty darn good! (go Shatner)
