I found these instructions on setting up a L4D2 demo server.

Maybe it would be of some use to our server monkey? Also it may be useful for checking the setup on our existing servers as it mentions details on setting them up as public or private servers?

I've been out of touch recently, got guests staying and the kids are staying in the computer room :crying:. Did this L4D2 server get up and running and if so what it the IP:port?

Last I heard they were planning on going on Saturday so I hope to pop my L4D2 cherry that evening. :woot2:

My connection has been down since Thurs morning so I'm giving it a try tonight too.

I just tried to connect to our demo server with no luck - hangs. I'll have a play and post up the IP etc if I can get it to work.

Found the problem - it mustn't be passworded.

If you want to create a desktop shortcut use this string:

C:\YourPath\Steam.exe -applaunch 590 -novid +connect cs2.deadmen.co.uk:27032 +rcon_password "B1gSt1ck"

I'll get a 2nd demo server prepped just in case.

Please Sir can we have an L4D2 full game server? :D

Same settings as the demo one should be OK as that allows connections via the dMw game group.

2 servers up replacing the 2 demo servers.

If I have it correct.....thanks Oldie. It's more lust than love.

As a side note, can we password them? Thinking of match nights. Second question, can someone sort out my ftp to the servers (change my permissions or whatever so I can edit the config files/maps etc. I don't need to yet, but no doubt will at some point.

I've currently got Coldstore, BA and Arma2 access I think.
