Something for you lot? I'm sure you've seen it, but on the off chance.

Hey Benny, its hard enough getting 'em in for a one hour race on a Thursday.
What with all the medication and sobriety issues etc., it would take a great deal of planning. Perhaps 8 to a car would be about right.
rFactor is supposed to be coming up with something new early next year, so we may be tempted down that road again :)

I'd actually love to try an endurance race some time. Not a 24h race but say, 6 or 8 hours in a team of 3 - 4 drivers. I like to think that my consistency and general cautious driving would make up for my lack of pure speed in such a long race :)

I know LFS has lots of Endurance leagues that are very successful, but I'd much rather try one in rFactor because of the time advancement, which makes things a lot more interesting, like the article says.

Unfortunately I don't think I'll ever be in such a race due to the lack of time I can dedicate to simracing these days. It's hard enough getting an hour racing in, let alone several hours. Plus the hours and hours of practice and careful strategy planning that precedes an event of such scale. Oh well, maybe one day when I'm retired...

I used to do this a lot with my flat mates while studying for my bachelor's. We would do the Gran Turismo endurance runs of 100, 300 or more laps. It took ages, but we would make so much in-game cash, and since we would do a bit each, it was not too hard. The responsibility for the lot made you focus really hard. We had great fun :D Does NOT work when you include beer

Edit: Also, having to do real "pit stops" with switching places in the office chair, adjusting the wheel etc. was great fun. The old driver would move out of the way quickly, the new get in, and the third guy would work the wheel, chair and pedals. Damn, I miss that :)

Was that GT4 ?  You do know that you could run any of the enduro races in "B-spec" (console driven) at 3x speed and still collect all the cash at the end, right? :narnar:

In GT3 you could do the "rubber band" driving at Super Speedway enduro - usng a rubber band to hold the gas and steering joysticks in the right places to let the car do the oval by itself. Tiring of that, I just used the cheat code to get 60 mil credits.

But then, you wouldn't have had all that fun with yer mates :g:

For me, no real time for enduros these days ..... ah for the good old days :crying: ..... ....... :D

I can't recall details for sure but, I think it was GT2 or GT3. Whatever was out around year 2000? I am fairly certain we could not fast forward it. I also think the tracks required A-license.

And yes, it was for the fun :)
