Title: LFS minimising
Post by: Doorman on November 13, 2009, 12:45:12 PM
Someone last night suffered a minimising of LFS, I believe it was Lameduck
Does THIS (http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=63241) throw any light on the problem? :g:

Guilty m'lud, but I aint got AVG. Have checked all shut-down and screen-saver settings (not that I use them) but aint found a valid reason yet.
Bit hair raising as it happened about half a second before hitting turn one. Hope it dont happen again.

Aha! It was on the straight just when you raised your pint sized wine glass wasn't it? :roflmao: No wonder you didn't see anything.

Hmm, funnily enough rFactor minimized on my earlier today on account of AVG popping up a window asking me to upgrade to 9.0 :sideways:

I sure hope that won't be happening in tonight's league races. Maybe I should try disabling AVG alltogether just to be on the safe side :g:

Oh, and it wasn't a glass.:g: Glass had been emptied much earlier. :D

In the hopes that if I upgraded to AVG 9.0 the pop ups would stop, I decided to upgrade. But now rFactor (and I assume any other game that would be running) minimizes every so often for no apparent reason. Seeing as several people have reported this problem after installing AVG 9.0 I am uninstalling it as we speak

I also had this problem before and was unable to link it anything - for which i blame long intervals between "minimizations". But, i also did have lfs switching to window mode - resizing from full screen to window right upon startup. It still does the latter, but haven't played it for long time now so i forgot about these issues.

Why on earth anyone feels the need to have any anti virus running while gaming is beyond me. :g:

To be honest, why any half experienced sensible internet user feels the need to run anti virus programs at all is questionable.

I have Avast installed but only fire it up every couple of months when i remember to have a scan, and I've still not manged to get a virus in years.  In fact i can only recall getting one virus in all my years of internet use, and i completely deserved to catch it, installing something i knew was pretty dodgy.

No offense meant to anyone who's had viruses, but to catch one you have to be pretty silly.

I agree, I used to not have an antivirus programme on my computer for years without problems. But a few years ago I decided to install a free one and it's been working fine ever since. You wouldn't know it was on the computer; never nagged, never caused crashes, nothing. It just did its job in the background. That's the way it should be.

But yeah, I'm wide open to viral attacks again now :) I'll see if I get any :sideways:
