This is not scientific at all, but it works. If you want to play on our servers, you can create the lobby and choose the game of your choosing.
QuoteGo to your Steam Game list (My Games tab).
Right click on Left4Dead2.
Select Properties.
Click "Set Launch Options..."
Add the following line:
+sv_search_key d34dm3n
- If all servers in your autoexec.cfg are populated the creation of a new server will fail and therefore you will be forced to host the game on your own computer.
- For the lobby system to allow creation of server to your designated server you must add the correct ip address to the autoexec.cfg
- The autoexec must be saved as a cfg file and not a text document as i kept doing in windows 7 despite it being named as "autoexec.cfg" you must make sure it is saved as "all files" and not a "text file" from the drop down menu.
- If a server is populated by the host using method 2 and the host drops from the server the server will close and kick all users out.
- The prioritisation of servers to join is listed in the autoexec.cfg if you prefer a server put that first. Currently "icepick" is the preferred server as that is at the start of the list.
The full command has changed as chainsaw (our new server) is not in the previous command.

You will then create games only on our servers.
Enjoy (and thanks b00n and OB for your hard work)
Just to elaborate more on what Benny's posted ...

You now have a choice.
If you *only* ever want to create a lobby for the dMw servers then select Method 1 else select Method 2.
Method 1
Create a text document called autoexec.cfg containing this line ...
Quotemm_dedicated_force_servers 77.108.129.45:27032,77.108.129.45:27033
Save in: your_path\Steam\Steamapps\common\left 4 dead 2\left4dead2\cfg
Method 2
Open your console within L4D2 and type ...
bind F10 "mm_dedicated_force_servers 77.108.129.45:27033,77.108.129.45:27032"
To create a game on one of the dMw servers you need to do the following based on whether you chose Method 1 or 2
Start L4D2 and ...
Method 1Create a lobby and select the gametype etc before inviting others to join you.
Method 2Press F10 *before* creating a lobby then select the gametype etc before inviting others to join you.
You will then create games only on our servers.

Yes. An update was released which was applied this morning.
Crikey, what a faff!
I've been using HLSW to join the new servers, which seems to work - although I guess you can change game settings etc if you use the lobby.
Thanks OB, typing in a hurry...
Kinda related to zombie blood and guts...I've just taken the end cm off my thumb..it's a gusher. :thumbsdownsmileyani

If you just jump on one of the servers then, unless a lobby was created by anyone already on, you will be stuck on coop mode with 4 players max.
I'm not sure if you can then use the in-game voting to change anything.
It's worth noting that the 'openserverbrowser' command still works, if you just need to join the servers.
Ok method 2 is working fine.
We don't seem to have our customised banner (motd) or any of our deadmen.co.uk scripts running yet for who we are.
Can these be put into effect?

They're on my 'to do' list :)

Great thanks Oldy,
I'll launch all my games using the servers and let you know how i get on :)

Can this be merged with the first post and the full thread stickied please?
