Title: What a cheek
Post by: OldBloke on November 30, 2009, 07:40:09 PM
I can't bring myself to reply on the LFS forum but this has ruffled me feathers (http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?p=1320431#post1320431).

What he's basically saying is "please configure your servers differently so that racers totally new to LFS can join if they've forgotten to change their name from 'unnamed'".

And the reason? So that new LFS'ers don't get a bad first impression.

What a bloomin' cheek. What about the impression they get the first time they hit one of his 'space launch' barriers?

Here's the deal, Scawen. I won't tell you how to code - you don't tell me how to run my servers.

I would have posted on the LFS forum that as the coder of LFS he can just make the default player name the same as the username. Thats his job. Running servers is your job.

I just posted this.

QuoteScawen, why not make the registered name the default player name? If they want something else they'll sort it! Simples.

It seems he's not impressed by my suggestion. :sideways:

Maybe thats because he does not have the time to code a few lines as he's bogged down with work trying to get the new physics out by Christmas. :D

If not 2009, one could hope for 2010. But some of it was promised for 2008. So who knows.

Funny, I got that NKP taste in my mouth. :D

Agreed. From what I can see each server is different in the way they are run. From "Proper racing and racing etthics", to what can only be called crash and refuges for the childish.
