Title: Arma 2

So, what's the process for getting this going. We have a server that gets a decent number of players on two regular nights.

Armitage, Tutonic and b00n would make the admin team and a couple of other regs could be in the wings if we needed more (me, Del, zoot, whoever). Once it's taken up I think we'll see more investment in it, in terms of custom dMw missions that we can then pimp out, attracting more players and the cycle continues.......

The *only* issue is the ingame voice. That said it hasn't switched IP for a while so maybe it's worth a try again?

*bump

Looking for a nod from TL / OB here.

Can I propose Arm as the Section head with Arm, B00n and Tut as admins.

Do we have some cycle of uptake defined with ghosty? Do we need a nod from Whitey to say server side he's happy?

Come on gents, let's get some process in the way of good old fashioned gaming.

Being discussed guys. The game is an obvious fit as said but we need to be happy that we can run multiple servers without the dual nic issue preventing that. Hold tight for now.

Can I ask which dMw members are playing this regularly then please?  A list would be helpful.

I'm a 'now and then' as Benny says, sadly more 'then' than 'now'

It seems that Spudguns PC is cursed as I now also am getting a verbal kicking from her -indoors any time I go near it. So my game time is limited at best.

Being single is fast becoming quite appealing :g:

Thought I'd add some more comments.

I spent a couple of hours yesterday playing with the mission editor and something called the armory. The scope of the game is immense. You can make small or island wide missions and pretty much use any vehicle you like, choppers,  planes, tanks, jeeps, Nissan Bluebirds...

The more I play it, the more I like it and I think our biggest issue is the impossible learning curve.
I'm going to get some time organised so I can put together a couple of basic missions for beginners - move from A to B and kill everything type things.

Thanks, Benny. That's very much appreciated.

Very basic first attempt done. Take into account it's just mucking about.

A 4 player mission. You spawn on a small sandbank, there's a patrol in front on the main shore, there's a few goodies in the town and if you get as far as your evac at the other end of town there may be a suprise.

It's taken about 20 mins and I'll tweak away and extend etc, but you should spawn as the troop leader, if you die you'll respawn as someone else in your squad.

You can get used to firing on smallish groups with plenty of cover. You'll also learn that water washes your guns away...unless you find the shallow crossing.

for info on building missions...

Oh and I can't upload it for some reason my FTP pass isn't working...
