Technical question......
I'm running the SETI client as my screen saver, so I originally thought this would prevent me from running Folding too.
However the SETI client does not use spare CPU cycles but runs as either a standard application or as a screen saver. I run it only as a screen saver as the running application does slow down games etc. I also turn off the PC at night (be energy efficient and save the planet and stuff).
Therefore it occurs to me that I could run the folding client and SETI client at the same time. The folding client would run all the time and SETI would kick in as a traditional screensaver as and when. Folding would be a little less efficient when running the SETI screensaver but that would be all?
Am I right or am I right ?
Given your earlier post this evening I believe you are "horsey"
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
Hmmm no one wants to advise?
I'll stick to SETI then

Touchy this morning? I think you forgot to take your pills again Smilo. Horse Tranquiliser #1 should do it I believe ;) As I've only just seen your post (and it has only been up 12 hours, most of which I sleept for) you will forgive me for not responding.
When you wake up from the tranquiliser, I will have posted an answer for you.

smiley u are right.... as I accidentaly left seti installed on my pc like that too! However when the seti screen saver kicks in it will take ALL cpu cycles away from F@H. Thats ok it jus tmean F@H uses space cpu cycles while you are doing stuff on your pc.
Any1 know how u can change what folding@home proceses or does it just do what it likes??
Efficiency efficiency people. No slacking here. I need answers and I need them quick. So fact me hard baby :)
Then again I shouldn't post that early in the morning, especially after espresso. Sorry guv.
I'll add my lowly little PC to the folding farm and see how it goes.

Unfortunately you cannot say which project you'd like to work on, it just depends which projects are available to work on when the client connects. You can however force it to get GROMAC cores (as long as they are available) by using the flags in the target line of your shortcut. You get more points for GROMAC cores compared to TINKER cores.
