I remember a time where we suffered large lag spikes in the 5-10 second period after a round starts.
It's back.
Tonight's match suffered badly from this. :(
I have to say that since 1.6 came in again I suffer lag spikes regularly. I don;t know whether or not it is linked to 1.6 or just coincidence, but it does not matter which ISP connection I am on, they all suffer lots of lag spikes. My usual ISDN ping of 80-90-ish is now normally 120-ish with regular jaunts up to the mid-hundreds and occassional spikes into the thousands.
I will run ping plotter logs for my next few sessions to see if anything is picked up.

I think it is likley the new CS game and/or any changes to the engine steam may or may not of made (geez talk about handing control over to the computer).
Now oldie has found some fundamental changes to configuration that valve have made.... I wonder, in this new version of hl/cs are there any new 'tuning' parameters we need to consider?
Are we still capping the maxrate type parameters to stop peeps with phat pipes from hogging the resources? or is that the parameter you were on about oldie?

running ping plotter is a damn good idea. I know it hurts but it may be handy to run it while playing too TL.
I was only thinking of running it when I was playing CS.
