Apparently there is a way to call a mobile phone and send the call straight to the person's voicemail rather than ringing the phone.
BA yesterday for example phoned and said a plane was delayed but they range my voicemail direct and the phone didn't ring.
Anyone heard of this ???. It'd be a neat trick.
have had this before
been sitting next to my phone when it bleeps with a text saying a message has been left , but the phone never rung ?
i just put it down to the network being busy
It might be network specific but your voice mail number isn't always the same as your phone number. This is certainly true on Vodaphone but I don't think it's true on O2. If you ring your voice mail number (as opposed to your mobile number you go straight to your recorded message and can leave a message in the normal way, as can anyone else who knows that number.
However for BA to be able to do this they would need to know your voice mail number rather than your actual mobile number, which I guess is unlikely. Delankster is probably right therefore. It's not a feature but just a dodgy network :g:
