Is anyone else with BT as their ISP? I've ruled out "as best I can" any local network issues/firewall etc but I can't traceroute to the eu logon server and am unable to get a connection to WoW.
Before I log a call with BT (which is a very painful experience) I'd like to know if it's a common issue.
Everything else is working fine, I can browse a number of websites and can connect to our CoD4 and CS servers.
Edit: I did a DNS lookup from my router of eu.logon.worldofwarcraft.com and it comes back with the ip address: 80.239.178.116. I'm unable to ping that address. Could someone else give this a try please?
have bt and all is well 'ere :)
there are some technical difficulties at blizzard atm because my battlegroup, which included my new server, went down and is apparently come back up but the realms aren't on the list....

I'm with BT and can't ping it either. I get 80.239.180.115
Thanks OB. I phoned BT and got an automated response that they have had severe issues with their Broadband service and that anyone with problems should switch off their router for 3 minutes and try again, doing that as soon as hit submit.....
The wow servers and most of the other blizzard hubs do not reply to pings. This is to protect them from most common inet attacks as blues posted a while ago.
No other WoW users with BT?
I'm with BT mate, but i haven't had any problems at all
Too late for the raid tonight but it's now sorted. :)
I don't know what the connection is or why it broke but I had to delete the file dsound.dll in the main WoW folder and that fixed it.
weird ... glad its fixed :yahoo:
