What type of controller do you use on your PC for arcade/console style games
I used to use PSX to USB but the old PS2 pad I had has died.
Any recomendations on this?
Cheers
Zoot
I saw some with xbox controllers at the lan playing need for speed, worked perfectly
They do work great either using the wireless or the wired ones mate :)
search the forum for my xbox wired controller review.
Simply put we will all have one soon enough.

Over my cold, dead body. :sideways:
:withstupid: I'm not buying anything that plugs into the telly.
I don't mind the kids having their own computers and playing games thereon as I figure it all adds to their general PC skills and knowledge - but not really into those telly consoles.
Someone asked me to look after their PS3 while they went travelling for a couple of months and I didn't even get it out the box.
Each to their own though :)
I do believe the point was Xbox wired controller makes for a very good pad for a PC. Some games seem to play better with a pad than a mouse keyboard set up. Assassins Creed and Tomb raider come to mind :)
The man does speak the truth they can be useful for the odd game, but it all down to personal choice :)
ive got one of these and it works brilliantly

The wireless 360 pad works perfectly for me.
Alot of PC games already have controls designed for it (after being ported over form the Xbox), so it makes sense.

So does it come with a wireless dongle to fit to usb?
How does the controller compare to the Playstation pad?
I will be using it for PES 2010 and emulated arcade games
+1 for the 360 pad from me, I got myself a wired one recently & it makes playing the likes of Batman & other such games alot easier, probably the best thing to come out of the 360.
The wireless 360 pad is quite simply the best PC controller. Works out of the box with almost all recent games without reprogramming or touching the control setup. Even works by default in some emulators etc.
I've had other controllers in the past that need you to manually set each button, and others that have two buttons that have the same function and can't be programmed to do different actions etc.
If you have GTA or anything like that which have bits (like driving) work better on a control pad you won't regret this. If you only play FPS or RTS games you're best with a keyboard and mouse, but if you are considering a pad this is the one to get.
i cant agree more, xbox 360 pad for windows is by far the best, i use mine for ARMA2 for the vehicles, also will use it for GTAIV. :D
nice review GhostMjr:D

you fold art Doors..
Thanks for all the advise you guys I am going with the wireless 360 pad as I couldn't find any hard evidence that the PS3 wireless pad works with a PC.
Soooo, where is the best place to buy from? any experience with ebay rip offs etc?
get the missus to pick you one up from tesco's on her travels ;)
