Hi all.
Just a small post to see if we can get a post from one of you officers about what the state of play is atm with in the guild its self. I for one am a bit confused, what with Mal leaving and you not on much atm Gandy. Who is overall in charge? I know real Life come first and this is NOT! a thread having ago at anybody, or to point fingers. if that happens then please close this thread. I just want to see if we can get some more info about what is going on atm, Because i am sure alot of other people are feeling that we are being left in the lurch about the state of play within the guild. I mean there might not be any problems or there might be(if there is maybe we can help in sorting them out).
Thats about it for now,

Gandy is GM and in charge, the list of officers is clear in guild ranks.
Whilst Gandy has some RL issues to deal with and has been away the other officers deal with guild management. Nothing has changed in that respect so there should be no confusion. The officers (inc the GM) have always operated as a Council, so no single figurehead is required to keep us running.
If you want more info on what happened with Mal rather than about who is running the guild then I'd tell you what I have told others, be patient. Mal had a hell of a lot on his plate that night and it appears he was getting hit from all sides at the same time about various issues. I'm not condoning what happened, just explaining that like most issues there are factors that non-officers will not be aware of and have no need to know about.
Being an officer is a thankless task. Being a raid leader *AND* an officer is even worse. I've done it myself so I know and it's a right royal PITA. Some nights there was so much QQ being thrown about I hardly had any room left for the rest of the alphabet. Members and raiders need to understand that the officers and raid leaders do this for the love of DMR and the game and are volunteers, nobody gets paid to take on the massive workload that the job entails. So when people start to QQ or question on TS then they should remember to:
1-firstly take it through their class channel to their class leader.
2-if no CL is in the raid then submit it to an officer that is not the raid leader via whisper
3-listen to the RL when on TS. When he talks, you listen, don't try to butt in and become raid leader yourself. If you have something to say then see 1.
Those basic rules are not there to kill fun or social chit chat, I hope those continue whenever the time and raid situation allows, but it really does help if those rules are followed during the raid when you have an encounter related question to raise. Imagine it from the raid leader's point of view. 25 people in the raid, all of whom whisper direct to him or try to talk over him or correct him with 'your own' opinion on TS all at the same time. Compare that with a clear and quiet TS with one voice with one set of directions, any questions coming via class channel whispers to the officers for discussion and a decision before inclusion in the tactic or not. If you did that in Eluo you'd be canned real quick as it is impossible to coordinate 10/25 people when too many indians think they are chief. A tribe has one chief and in the raid his word is law. If you disagree with it then take it to the officer after the raid in a whisper.
Give it some time.
DMR is alive, kicking and clearing instances, like we did last night with Mal.
Ok thanks TL, just wanted some more info, and you gave it. :D
We still have our Gandy at the helm ... hes got the keys to the car locked away safe. The best part about DMR is its the members that run it with just a bit of direction given by officers. No one person is responsible for any part of the guild... So in effect its carry on ... do what ya do, support ya teamates CL's and officers... then collect the loot :D
Agree with all the above.
Bell was right to ask for clarification, especially in the way he did it.
I'm still here and still checking the forums. As Jas says, DMR is a guild that is run by the members and overseen by the officers.
I am still at the helm and I know it's been a few weeks since I've been online in the evenings but there is a very good reason for that. You see, just after Christmas I met a very special young woman and we've been spending all of our time together while getting to know one another. That doesn't leave a lot of time for much else as you can imagine!
So there you go, that is the reason for me not being online much, however DMR has a fantastic officer and class leader lineup and a wonderful raiding team that is making progress every week and I'm happy that you will continue to grow while I'm not around much :)

Good on ya mate ;)
Nerf women. Honest. Their cc ability and the tame humanoid racial are op.
Joking of course! :narnar:
Enjoy your time, Gandalf, and have fun! :D
