This was the first FPS with a multiplayer that properly kept me going back for more.
It was only on LAN against my brothers. We had dial up back then so never dreamt of playing online, but even with 3 players it was great. I'd be the predator, my older bro the alien, and younger the marine every time.
We got so good at each class that the matches were incredibly even. Marine although seemingly underpowered with the right gun was deadly. Predator with speargun and cloak was a force to be reckoned with. An alien had a clear movement advantage being fast and able to walk on walls, but had to get up close (though could eat heads to regain any health lost by the obvious danger involved in this approach).
Anyway, if you haven't played it it's worth the asking price, and hopefully multiplayer will be added and make for some nostalgic matches.
This was the game that basically introduced me to fps's & online gaming - so it's got alot to answer for.
I signed upto a forum for the new game & it's pretty funny that alot of old names are turning up again & still living of there past glories & still convinced that there gonna be all that all over again. bless.
Multiplayer is on its way in the form of a patch, I'm told.
it was a absolutely awsome game, i still remember the co op last man standing map with the bunker, or was that in AVP2?

Yea the steam version has been updated to work on new os's & it supports widescreen + there meant to be working on a multiplayer patch too from what I've read.
