We are happy to confirm the dates for the April LAN as follows:
30th April - 2nd May 2010
DO NOT BOOK YOUR ROOM WITH HOTEL UNTIL WE TELL YOU TO PLEASE. THANKS
_______________________GENERAL LAN INFORMATION_______________________
The LAN will officially open at 10.00am on Friday
The LAN will officially end at 11.30am on Sunday
Please note that we have a maximum of 40-ish places and these will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
Please note that the minimum age for attending the LAN is 18.
Booking hierarchy:
International and Supporting Members are given first option to book. ONE WEEK LATER, the booking thread will open to everyone else. (BOOKINGS NOW OPEN)
(Please note that international gamers have a dispensation to pre-book so they can book their flights early).
Please note that you will be required to sign a liability waiver form on arrival at the LAN (unless you have previously signed one). It a condition of attendance that you agree to complete it.
Please note that if you fail to show up or give us little notice - a contribution to the LAN funds would still be appreciated (As things such as the amount of the prize fund are determined by the number of sign ups).
LAN Details:
Dates: As Above
Venue: Oliver Cromwell (http://www.olivercromwellhotel.co.uk/), March, Cambridgeshire.

Bed & Breakfast Accommodation: double occupancy Ã,£33 per person per night, sole occupancy Ã,£50 per room per night

If you book a Twin Room and want to share the costs of the room then when you post in this thread to confirm your attendance then also make a note of the fact you have a Twin room booked and are looking for someone to share with.
As before, the reduced accommodation and function room rates have been negotiated on the basis that the majority of the attendees will partake of the excellent cuisine offered by either the hotel restaurant's Fixed price, A La Carte or Bar menus on the Friday night. JOIN US for the WELCOME DINNER on Friday evening in Ballroom 2 at 7.30pm. WE STRONGLY REQUEST THAT YOU MAKE THE EFFORT TO EAT WITH US ON THE FRIDAY NIGHT.
Steak Night is on Friday Night !
The Oliver Cromwell offers: - The Noble Suite - an air conditioned conference room (http://www.olivercromwellhotel.co.uk/conferences.html)
- 24/7 access to the suite
- dMw control of entry to the suite
- Late night bar
- Gymnasium
- Large indoor swimming pool
- Eight-person Jacuzzi
- Sauna and Steam room
When booking your room please give them both your real name AND your GAMING NAME so that I can keep tabs of who has booked and who has not. Also, you *must* mention that you are booking in on the dMw rate, otherwise they will charge you full price!
Amongst other things the LAN will feature:
- a list of officially supported games (COD4, L4D and CS variants will be there)
- organised competitions
- official LAN Admins
- late night gaming
With your participation the LAN will be a great one, so reserve your spot as soon as the Booking Thread is published to make sure you do not miss out!
Enjoy!
Note for International Travellers:
The LAN accommodation costs are above, it's cheaper if you agree to share a twin bed (two single beds) room with someone of course.
The LAN venue we charge at Ã,£15 per person for the whole weekend (Ã,£10 for Community Supporters).
Other costs: Food and drink - this depends on you. If you're eating dinner in the restaurant it costs around Ã,£20-Ã,£25 plus drinks. Others prefer to buy sandwiches, get Pizza, kebabs or burgers etc and stick to beer not wine etc.
Travel: Any London airport works well, Stanstead & Luton are closest. Heathrow is ok, Gatwick is further but still doable. If you book your flight tickets we'll make sure someone picks you up and takes you back - post on the forums for a lift and you are usually sorted out very quickly as other attending members appreciate the international effort made! Other airports are also a possibility - if in doubt post and we'll see if anyone would be travelling past your airport!
Computer: If you have a shuttle or laptop then you're probably sorted (unless hand luggage rules cause you problems) but if you cannot bring your own PC then post in the LAN section to see if someone is willing to lend you a spare PC for the weekend. Many people have done this in the past and it seems to work well!
Booking is now open for International Members and for Supporting Members. If any International Members cannot see the booking thread, pm me and we'll add you to the list.
The list will be made available for everyone else to sign up on the 31st January.
Thanks
PEN/Sheepy
