Im looking for a free music editing software that will let me take samples from tracks so that i can make my own ringtones,anyone know of anything?
I think Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/) is probably what you are after.

I too have used Audacity to edit MP3s down and then either let the phone use them natively or let iTunes unleash digital carnage just to get a 5 second music burst when the phone rings. Not that it rings, I've had it a week and no-one's called me. Not a sausage, nada. Can I change my name to Wilhelm Nomates?
