Dead Men Walking

I think we should start by tidying up the various sections we already have so they are in some shape to be used in the new structure.

Please volunteer to pick up some pages, or a section.  The work will get final sign off by the appropriate Game Admin and by Penfold/me as Editors.

If you want to write new pages, like an FAQ for each game then please do an add them back into the mix by uploading them as .txt files to this section.

I'll start the ball rolling and work with the WoW section.

I'll happily take both in the absence of any other takers. I can work with Del on the latter.

They're not in the list of web pages on the menu on the left, one of the problems!  I've edited those sections in, but they are complete blanks as no such web section exists atm.  You might want to think about which bits of your section(s) should convert to seperate info sections on the web bit, which bits still forums etc.  THanks for the reminder :)

I can start with Dead Men Folding, which will be mainly copy/paste as it is in pretty good shape.

And about the forum part, I assume the section heads will clean them?
So my responsibility is to write the Info basicaly. And as for some statistics can they be done with the new site, integrated to the site ?

i got a ton of time atm while in the hospital most of the time, so i got the time to clean up some sections.. which i can do starting now if wanted..

Copy paste & trim/re-write is fine.

The forum itself is down to the Section Head and they have been prompted twice in the last 4 months to tidy things up to be ready for this.  Some have, most have not.  We'll reach a stage where I will give blanket approval to tidy up for them, but we're not there yet!

Let's split 'ideas for content' out into a new thread please, this is a WIP List thread.  If we have multiple ideas in one thread we'll quickly drown.

Folks, I need to bump this, it's taking *way* too long.  Let's get this done please, this is WIP list 1 and we have more to do after this!

I have been waiting for the status of folding page that I wrote some time ago, and if that is accepted then it is only about cleaning the forum and that is for other people to do.
 So hit me with the Cod4, I'll try to make some sense into it.

And due the current structure of dMw "pages" it is mainly about forum clean up, so the forum admins need a stronger kick.

This phase is about clean up yes, make it neat, concise and helpful.  When the design people get their bit together then we;'ll see new bits to write in.

Well, I've just completed the tidying up of most of the stickies in the CSS section.
Have a look to see if you thing I've been too brutish or not hached enough.
Mostly I've just unstickied the no longer relevant threads, and merged the similar threads; nothing has been deleted.

I will have a look at the Cod4 section in the next couple of days.

Thanks Blunt, don;t forget to take a peek at the menu pages for CSS on the left if you can please.  Shout if you need to offload some work.

Web Design is currently running even further behind than where we are in Web Content at the moment, but I would like to release to them the Content that we have so far re-drafted & shortened.  This means that we need to pusht he content over to their section and I would ask every Section Admin/Game Leader to post in the appropriate thread to agree the text.  When this has been done you are authorised to take the text and plug it into the ACP on the test site so that we can see how things look when on the site.

Let's get this process started ASAP please.

OK.. in my Enthusiasm I might have missed the point..

I've gone and created a number of threads on the test forum under the "it's a game..." section. Apologies if I've made an error but I can always repost here if absolutely necessary.. :)

I think the LAN text should be kept as generic as possible to save us having to update it every 6 months. Jabbs' write up is always a good one and could be included. I'm happy to supply whatever details you need.
