The LAN IV Gaming Committee is currently drawing up a list of games that will be officially supported for the LAN.
More information will follow when the list has been finalised. We hope this to be by Thursday this week.
TL.
OK, the final list of officially supported games has been drawn up. The official games will be:
- CS 1.5
- Live for Speed
- BF1942
- UT2003 & Deathball Mod
- Halo
- Reserves: Multiplayer Demos - Chrome and Chaser
There will of course be other games that you can play, but the Gaming Committee intends to schedule all of the competitions and wars around these official ones. Live for Speed, CS and the Multiplayer Demos are all available for free on the internet.
TL.
Btw, the gaming committee is:
Oldbloke
TeaLeaf
JAS
Sadako
Smite <<Gandalf

Just so you know......

Smite <<
Thats better :D
...And coffee
May i recommend 'Rally Masters' is an olden but absolute classic racing game that easy to play (for beginners) and very easy to setup. I could always forward a cd to someone if they wanted to test it out first.
Could I suggest Jedi Academy? For some mindless dualage..

Yessir! Just select 'Demo' from the connect page
If you have trouble with connecting to Deadmen Racing, you may get a message saying "Server requires a password" install this patch (http://forum.racesimcentral.com/showthread.php?t=111578) and all will be well. Good fun was had last night with TL, JAS and myself. TL is making a name for himself, JAS is still too boisterous and needs to curb his enthusiasm! Password as per MeatHook.
go for the dload now .....its a good game easy to pick up and install / set up / and using the mouse to drive gives a quite real feel to it :D
If you get a problem with the controls momentarily locking up for 1-5 seconds at a time then go into the options and increase the 'sleep time' to the maximum 20ms - it cures the problem! (thanks to Doorman for finding this solution for me!)
Great fun game - let's see if a few more on Doorman's server tonight! And then, as ever, it is off to the MeatHook for some killin!
TL.
OMG this game is hard.. I'm playing with a sidewinder pad and I can't seem to set the steering up right..
I can only steer hard left or right.. Talk about understeer.. Tried with the mouse and kept doing doughnuts so gave up on that..
Where's Doorman's server??
Click on Multiplayer and then find the one called Deadmen Racing - there are only 40-50 servers so it shouldn't take too long to find.
TL.
Sigh dont think me computer will be able to hack that deathball game :(
Dont worry about it DA, i've been to all the LAN's and still never played UT. Just leave the little boys to their game and i'll whoop yo momma's ass on Worms HL.

Don't know.
i get all my "patches" from here (http://www.gamecopyworld.com/).
if there is a noCD patch then that is the place to look.
Select a European mirror, once you enter the main site look for "PC" and "Game Index" on the right hand side. Click that and you'll get an A-Z listing :)
Oops, just checked the readme with the patch and "YES" it is enabled for public servers :)
Tried it BB but just keeps saying my cd key is invalid - and after I paid £30 for it an all 8)
Ill bring some of me games then
Halo Rocks. :D
