Tough call. I'll have McLaren for the constructors though.
my heart says lewis and maclaren but my head says Alonso for the title with ferrari for the constructors
either way its shapping up to be another good season :D
Could not agree more. The better question is will all the teams make the grid for the season opener? Looks like they will not so will they get replaced?
What a shame, that Vettels exhaust played him parts, now that dreadfull Alonso wins :crying: at least it lead too Hamilton on 3rd now.
btw, why the h. do they have these rediculous point system now?
25, 18, 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1
If you win 4 races and crash 6, you'll have 100 points, and if your doing a good stable 4-6 place in 10 races, you'll only be coming close.
I thought they wanted a closer race, now a few peaks will make drastic gaps between drivers.
Winning 1, 2 or 4 points used to be a big deal, now its peanuts
I want 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 back :(
What he said!
I was surprised to hear that too when it was announced
Think the end of the season will come early for one driver, could even be as soon as just after half way through the season
Not sure about the fueling rule either now
The spread in points is the same as giving First place 11 points under the old scoring regime. Overly rewards first place.
Very lame if you drive steadily in 2-5 and win the championship, now you actually have to win the races to get points.
Quote from: Lexander;305966Very lame if you drive steadily in 2-5 and win the championship, now you actually have to win the races to get points.
Well, this championship is about overall rankings, not just winning. And they whole deal about all the restriction of top teams is about bringing the rankings closer together, not rewarding plain victories, which they where doing actually in the last 2 seasons as they got pretty exciding (not talking about the ridiculous wins of brawn in 2008 at the start.)
As all the different tracks, demand different things from both driver and cars, the whole point is keep on performing. Not just do well on easy dry warm/hot tracks.
well i got up at 730 am falklands time to watch this and all i can say is BBBOOOORRRRIIINNNGGG!!!
even the drivers/commentators were saying this as well, big thumbs down from me
Someone please smack Webber for me.
I'm no expert on racing, but was that legal?? pfft, I'd say thats a foul!
For the rest, smacking race, really enjoyed it. I'm a bit sad now, as this might very well be the best race of the 2010 season, so, well, probably any race as of now will be less fun :(
Rain for every race please :)
Cracking Race!, full of action :yahoo: beats the last one hands down!
Got to love Alsono's response to his team engineer who told him Hamilton was only 3.5 behind him: "Okay, I don't want to know" :roflmao:
I think Hamilton needs to grow up a little though
Next race only one week away too :yahoo:
Quote from: Snokio;307007I think Hamilton needs to grow up a little though
 just a little?
Aye Hami's comments to his race enigineer towards the end of the race were not needed, but you can understand his frustration somewhat. He drove brilliantly and just got stuck behind other drivers and there's not a lot you can do with the aero turbulence you get into these days when close behind another competitive car.
I'm less than impressed with Webber though who has once again shown that whilst he is usually a gentleman when he is under pressure and it goes wrong for him that he gets the 'red mist' and fails to drive sensibly. He had several 'moments' during the race including almost taking off Hamilton earlier in the race when his stubborn refusal to give up the place lead to him almost taking out Hamilton as he had out-braked himself by such a large margin. Webber's race was almost completely covered by his red mist which he caused for himself at the start.
Glad Massa beat Alonso, I think it is needed to give Massa & Ferrari an emotional lift after last season's almost fatal accident.
Full praise to Button though, a stunning call on the slicks and wow what a drive to look after the tyres and keep pounding in those fantastic times. All hail Button!
Worst moments of the race, watching mobile chicanes being rolled around the circuit. Some of the new teams were slow enough that I think they qualified as a circuit obtstacle not as a racing car. I seriously hope they find some speed soon to get closer to what the mid-runner teams are doing.
News:
"Sebastian Vettel has escaped a penalty for overtaking backmarker Jarno Trulli under yellow flags in the closing stages of the Malaysian Grand Prix.
The Red Bull Racing driver was leading comfortably two laps from home when he came up to lap the slowing Lotus at Turn 4 - just as the yellow flags were out for Fernando Alonso's stranded Ferrari.
Vettel overtook the Lotus on the inside of Turn 4 ââ,¬â€œa move which was in breach of the regulations that bans car from overtaking each other when yellow flags are out.
The stewards spoke to Vettel after the race and, after also viewing video and telemetry data, they decided that since he had made 'a large reduction in speed through the yellow flag area and that he understood that Car 18 was slowing with an obvious problem' it was decided that no penalty would be applied.
Former grand prix driver Johnny Herbert was acting as the drivers' advisor on the stewards panel in Malaysia."
Good old Johnny Herbert, Common Sense prevails for once! :yahoo:

He also saved Hamilton's butt when he though that he was playing playstation in mid race.

Love the way he still tries to steer to avoid the barrier :D
Video might not be available outside UK.
I thought they had a system that stopped the wheels flying off after an accident? I suppose the anchor points disintegrated as well.
One lucky guy :D
For those outside of the UK who can't see the video on the BBC page: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQZrmBoRjKY
This is funny and terrifying at the same time. Good thing none get hit by those wheels.
Noooooooeeez, Hammilton leading Q1 and Q2 and then slows down in Q3 and comes 6th :'( Hope He'll advance top rank tomorow though, that will soften the pain.
Great race and good, well deserved results! :yahoo:
Its 'the major' 3 week break now where traditionally the major updates happen, long time to wait though
(Thats if they ever manage to fly back that is :D)
Interesting to hear that there might be a Indian and New York circuits in upcoming calenders!
I rather enjoyed the more 'elbows out' aggressive tone of this race
Cracking game, thoroughly enjoyed it!
If they are going to give penalties to Vettel and/or Hamilton then they might as well ban humans from entering the F1 championships and replace them with computers ...

I don't know, I thought some of Hamilton's moves were questionable to say the least :g:
Very enjoyable race, indeed. More of the same please!
Very much like to hear the conversation between Massa and Alonso :boxing:

This rule (and many others ) doesn't apply to Ferrari.
Happy bidet Lumi. :D

And what Oldie said 18th April
Red Bull gives you flexible Wings! Seems to be a lot of flexing on these wings despite passing scrutineering. Anyone got any idea exactly what the load test they use is? Ferrari also seem to have semi-flexing front wings and the droopers seem to have a massive speed advantage this weekend with the extra downforce it provides.
Quote from: TeaLeaf;314292Anyone got any idea exactly what the load test they use is?
The way this regulation is tested, regarding the front wing, is through a deflection test performed at the track during scrutineering. This deflection test requires the bodywork to deflect no more than 10mm vertically when a 500N load is applied vertically to it 800mm forward of the front wheel centre line and 795mm from the car centre line. The load will be applied in a downward direction using a 50mm diameter ram and an adapter 300mm long and 150mm wide. Teams must supply the latter when such a test is deemed necessary. (Tech Reg. 3.17.1)

I'm with Eddie Jordan on this, Mclaren should make a complaint to the stewards or build a better car.
Oh, the drama!!!
