Title: Tanking Help
Post by: Bellanie on March 02, 2010, 07:35:48 AM
Hey all,

this one is for all you warriors. I am bringing my warrior back over from Horde this week, and i am going to start gearing him up for tanking. atm with his current tank gear his is sitting at about 31k unbuffed HP, 545 def. Now my single target threat is ok for single targets, but my main problem is my aoe tanking i always seem to struggle with it big time. is there anyway you could help with this. Any advice would be welcome tips, hints or macros that you could share.

cheers Bell

i wil update this with a link to the armoury profile as soon as i have sorted his tank spec out.

I usually just spam Devastate, Thunderclap, Shockwave and cleave. Seems to do the job alright in an average Random HC. :g:

firstly - dont raid tank!!! ever!! please?

secondly - glyph of cleave gives more aoe, glyph of devastate or glyph of sunder armour will help increase threat generation

thats it for the moment

story time!

Once upon a time in Kara, Tal was invited in to main tank.

On the first pull, he charged out of range of the healer, aggroed 1 mob, as we ran in to help, 2nd patrol mob aggroed off healer, killed healer then rest of raid.

They all left, and i was in stitches.

Tal never tanked raid again

:roflmao:

Glyph of cleave - makes your cleave hit 3 targets.
Glyph of sunder armor - makes you sunder armor affect a 2nd target.
Glyph of devastate - devastate applies 2 stacks of sunder armor.
Heroic tanking build (http://www.wowhead.com/?talent#LA0b0fZhZVItrx0zidfzsGo:Mcfmzo)

This is pretty much how you would specc a warrior to be most effecient in heroics, although a few point can be jiggled around. If either you shockvawe or thunderclap crits, the deep wounds will be applied to targets.
