Title: SYS01475 & SYS02027 errors
Post by: TeaLeaf on March 14, 2010, 04:52:55 PM
Been gradually bringing my new Windows 7 installation up to speed on the SSD I bought and swapping between booting to the new Win7 SSD and the XP Pro Raid instal I have on my main PC.  I've been struggling to get the Win7 instal to pick up my 9800GX2 grahics card so I thought I would go back to basics and update everything I could first.  So I:

Flashed BIOS 0219 to 0902 (Asus Rampage Formula)

Booted up and got the helpful error messges:

Firstly a crack about CPU fan failing, which I got rid of by setting CPU Fan Control to Disable and CPU Fan Speed to Ignore (N/A setting still gave an error) - mine is water-cooled.

That got me a bit further to this error:

OS/2 !! SYS01475
OS/2 !! SYS02027

QuoteSYS01475
The file OS2BOOT cannot be found. OS2BOOT is the second stage boot program, and it must be present on a bootable partition; it may be a hidden file. This message appears if the directory entry for OS2BOOT cannot be found in the root directory of the boot drive.
SYS02027
Insert a system diskette and restart the system. This is merely an advisory message.
Both the raid (XP Pro) and the SSD (Win7) are boot drives and I have simply been swapping between the two depending on which I was working on, but now I cannot get past these error messages.

Not got a clue where to go from here.  Any suggestions anyone?  Tempted to consider rolling back to 0219 to see if it helps, but would appreciate some input first!

Rebooted more times and it seems to now boot up on my Win7 SSD.
Time to try booting up ont he raid0 XP Pro array now as well I guess, maybe that has decided to work now too!

Yep, it now works.  I changed nothing other than had a 30 min chat with Kreg (thanks!) about how messed up the error seemed to be, then went and rebooted and all worked fine both via the Win7 SSD and the Raid0 XP Pro installs.  Wierd, go figure.

My brother in law was transferring a network from one office to another for a company he was contracted to years ago. Router would not work properly no matter what, they were there for days. By accident someone knocked it about an inch sideways on the desk and it started to work. Moved back to its original position it produced errors again.

Wierd stuff happens!
