i can put it in few words, as soon as we start to progress again in 25 man ppl start moaning!! get with the program and accept mistakes and wipes.

i am not saying to anyone particular, just saying that it would be nice if everyone would remember that progress means wipes and mistakes, there are so many aspect in some fights that one small mistake can tip the boat, that is why we get on a new one and try again. it think we are a place in 25 man icc we we can down rotface and who knows maybe fester, but it need that none get frustradet even if we wipe 5 times.

Wipes are part of the game ... Not to be enjoyed tho we need them to move on. The big part for me is understanding the why we wipe so we can iron out the problem. It's not a case of finger-pointing as we can just blame Jas ... something to always remember is what seems a simple fight for 1 class can be a killer for another.

:withstupid:  If people can't be bothered to turn up i cant be bothered to run the raids. The fact is guys you WILL loose a raid spot if we cant get the attendance up as we will get new people in who can. We will have no more 2x10 man runs... If we don't have enough it will be 1x10 and they will be the people who want to carry on the next raid or next night. I had 16 people available signed up that's enough for a 10 man tho we were all saved to different instances ... no more :sideways:

ummm sorry to state the obvious Krac but lack of numbers is the problem, i couldn't tell you why people are not online. it could be several different reasons EG - Real Life getting in the way, People drifting away from the game.

or it could be that people think we are not making any progress on 25man and decided to leave the game for a while and come back later thinking, "oh i know if i dont log on for a few weeks they will have the boss on farm, and that way i can make some progress." and if thats the case then they are muppets for thinking that.

I hope that kinda makes sense for you Krac. sorry if it a bit direct, And please do not take offence from it.

cheers
Bell.

Well up until 3 weeks ago I was enjoying the game and having fun doing dailies and raiding, but I'm getting none of that anymore. I don't know whats changed but its just not working for me at the moment.

I logged in last night for the first 25man of the week. Even though 23 signed up the numbers were well short of that. Yeah fair enough real life stuff happens that can stop you joining. But there was still only 23 signed up at the end of the day.

Anyway

Adieu :crying:

what i wud say is:
do recruitment via classes
i.e: have a list of what classes we need and open recruiting on those classes
e.g (tank class= recruitment open)

It could also mean gear up your new lvl 80's, older ones who have not raided for a bit, but maybe take a step backwards & bring on the next generation as a team!

It would be nice to know how many members are in that position, wanting to raid but not having the gear.

It's really easy to get yourself geared up to a level that can go to ICC just by doing lots of daily quests for Triumph and Frost emblems then buying the T9 sets with those.  Saying that, I'm more than happy to do ToC25 on an off night if we have enough people who want to do it. :)

if this is the case then maybe it ought to be a good idea to get a post up so we can see who from the social ranks is up for raiding and what classes and the state of thier gear is.

gearing up is only half the problem, its getting used to working as part of a team that takes the practice, especially going from out-geared 5 mans to chalenging 25 mans.

Maybe face rolling ulduar would be a better start, longer instance that gives a wider range of challenges than Toc 25

Title: A novice's point of view
Post by: walrob on March 19, 2010, 09:21:37 PM
As one of the afore-mentioned people who may be 'recruited' I thought to add my opinion. Please remember that this is the opinion of someone who is still quite a novice and who has never raided, and some of this may echo the opinions of others who have already contributed.

The step up from questing, instances, and generally levelling seems a world away from raiding ICC. It seems an unsurmountable obsticle to get from 1.3 DPS to 5K DPS. Practice and gear will help, but how to get that?

The recruitment requirements posted by Sheep ask for T9 gear and restricts classes. I understand that it would be good for all around if uber players joined, and it is likely hat the guild would make better progress. It would be nice to be in a position where there was genuine competition for places in the guild raids rather than being short of people.

However, are we a hardcore raiding guild or a social raiding guild?

What about the social members who MAY want to raid? How about non-members who are still gearing up...could they be 'recruited'? According to Sheeps post, the class I levelled as (Boomkin) isn't required in the raids, and neither is my proposed second spec (healer). Would some of the experienced members be willing to give up their time to bring along those who are inexperienced and under-geared...some sort of 'academy'? Having said this, I have had offers of help from certain Guild members...thanks peeps.

BTW, I plan to live in Naxx for the next few months :-)

In the end this is a social game (otherwise I'd still be playing Elder Scrolls: Oblivion) and introducing new blood at a lower 'level' is a good way to make new friends.

Rob, some good questions raised - generally I think T9 is not a hard place to get to, from coming back to wow after a break i managed to get 4piece T9 in a little over a week. Just keep hitting randoms and getting badges the gear will come.

Also we would be far more likley to take someone along with a little less gear that we know rather than someone who is applying from outside the guild.

Recruitment is always internal first .. If you can commit to the raid times then give one of the officers a poke. Gear wise it's not that hard now to get some competitive kit thrown together lots of people around to help :)
