Opera Mini/Mobile (http://www.opera.com/mobile/) is one of the definitive best web browsers available for mobile units, and they have just released the latest versions Opera Mini 5 and Opera Mobile 10. It is available for nearly
any mobile device (except the iPhone, cause Apple won't let them into their store :sideways:), and you can install it simply by browsing to m.opera.com on your phone (or search it up in Android Market, for those with that option).
Some of the most significant things it has to offer:
- It is lightning fast (way faster than the Doplhin browser on my Hero)
- All pages are pulled through one of Opera's servers that compress the content (saving potentially many valuable MBs for those not on a fixed payment plan) and optimize it for a mobile view
- The pages look just as if you visit them in a normal browser (except for flash stuff)
- And for those of you already using Opera on your desktop: it'll synch perfectly for you
Only thing it is "lacking", is support for flash (and limited ajax/client-side javascript) - but for general browsing that isn't much of a problem.
If you haven't already go to m.opera.com and try it out. You'll never regret :D
Well, there is some functionality problems IIRC, with the interface, on android? How you had to click on the camera-button or something, specifically, when selecting. Imho the built-in browser on the Hero (android?) is excellent.

Can't say I have experienced anything problems with it at all. Installed without any problem, using it without any problem. The latest version was recently released - have you perhaps been on an older one?

Yes, Dolphin (which is the native Android browser) is also a very good browser. And if I need to visit pages with lots of dynamic javascript-based contend, flash etc, it is my preferred choice. However, when on the move I stick with Opera Mini - mainly for two reasons: (1) the speed is way better than with the Doplhin (even such a simple thing to navigate back to the previous page is slow), and (2) it greatly limits the amount of MB used to browse pages.

I tried it again and I can barely recognize it! All new interface and more options. Very fast. Loved it on my old w810 and will for sure keep it on the Android :D
Opera is trying to put some pressure on Apple to get them to allow Opera Mini on the iPhone: http://my.opera.com/community/countup/
Live count-up for how long it has taken from Opera submitted their app till it gets approved. You can also place a bet on how long it will take - and the closes bet will win, almost ironically, an iPhone
Now that Microsoft is becoming an irrelevance I may have to move from being a Mad Microsoft hater to an Avid Apple hater.
Opera was always lighting fast on my Nokia phones and so I will certainly look at it for quick forum, nes site browsing. :)
It is so much faster, but it doesn't support flash....one of the defining reason to own an android phone. Mobile browsing without flash is flawed.
