Title: Current bc2 admin tools
Post by: GhostMjr on March 17, 2010, 10:14:29 PM
Currently we are using the clanforge tool via webpage by multiplay and in addition a tool known as bc2cc.

Clanforge

QuoteClanforge can be accessed by going to:

http://clanforge.multiplay.co.uk/cgi-clan/manage.pl

The userguide can be found here:

http://gameservers.multiplay.co.uk/help/clanforge-userguide/

Access to clanforge is via multiplay and therefore needs a multiplay username.

To add a user to the clanforge admin list the following details are needed:

  • multiplay username
  • email
  • real name

BF2CC

QuoteFor access to bc2cc this is done via downloading the tool:

http://www.bc2cc.com/downloads.html

User guide:

IN PRODUCTION

To update the tool click update and once the progress finishes moving click cancel and then restart the tool.

To add the server:

  • click the bottom left icon
  • type the ip of the server 85.236.102.67:22067 but plus ten for rcon:85.236.102.67:22077
  • Password: IQGSdpTtUG

I am also using BFgaurdian as it is providing in game commands.  The other tool that is around at the moment is similar to the old bf2cc and has been set to use with a  daemon which dice is said is not allowed so that will not work.  Hopefully proper rcon commands and a more extensive tool will be out shortly.

Off to have a play with it....

Assuming this does what we want we'll get it up onto one of our two boxes asap and we'll therefore need a config file - Valdeko you offered to sort one for us please so could I ask you to get the starting file set up so that we can get it working?

I have assumed that this needs to be hosted on our box as Multiplay would not host it - or does it need to be hosted on the game server box?  If so then this has an impact on who we renew with - Multiplay or Rackage.  Can I have some feedback on this please?  My reading of it is that is needs ideally to be on one of our boxes for the scheduled message element to work properly (and not have multiple spammed by different admins), but then also run by each admin locally to allow then the more delicate in-game controls?

Thanks in advance.

Ive already made a working Wolfcon tool on my comp, just need to know who to send it to.

And yes TL, we need to host it on one of out boxes (same as the Guardian is being done atm). The tool is the same as guardian, you can set up all the admins befor hand and what commands they can use. So when the tool is being run on the box, the admins can freely use the ingame commands. But to actualy see whats going on ingame (swearing on other team, excessive TKing, lone wolfing) each admin needs to run the same version and same configed Wolfcon whats being run on the box, on their comp aswell.

Are there any advantages to using Wolfcon over BC2CC?

All I really need is the ability to put up messages, and boot people if need be.

Post by: valdeko on June 01, 2010, 05:47:25 PM
Just for plain use Tutonic? If so then no, not really, any tool is good for plain use.

Its just that WolfCon has more extra options in it, that makes the server better.

But you do know you can use the ingame commands of WolfCon also, you've been added to the admin list, so /say,/yell,/kick/ban/slay options are available ingame.

FYi, Latest update from Valdeko is now running on BA4.
Title: Current bc2 admin tools
Post by: valdeko on June 03, 2010, 04:45:34 PM
As i found out last night (by mistake): running to exact versions and exact config WolfCon at the same time makes one of the tools shut down or stop working. That happened with me last night when i started WolfCon on my comp to see some more info and thus makeing the WolfCon on the BA4 stop working (since the wolfcon on BA4 comes from me).

So could the other admins just for safety reasons not run their own WolfCons atm. Since we dont know what happens when 2 WolfCons with diffrent configs run at the same time.

I'm working on a new config and map rotation for whitey. I'll use the Wolfcon updater tonight before I send it on. Have you been involved in the beta testing for 2.0? I missed my chance to get onboard.

Quick Update.. I've sent the latest config to Whitey tonight. This should (hopefully!) resolve any WolfSpawn issues too.

In addition I've tweaked the map rotation so that there's only one round of the Conquest maps.

The sub-admin log on is really flaky it only seems to work about 2/10 times. The server side service seems to keep stopping/crashing.
Title: Current bc2 admin tools
Post by: TeaLeaf on August 05, 2010, 07:52:07 AM
Is this a problem with the software or with our server?  Are other non-dMw users experiencing similar?  Nothing else on our server seems to be 'not working' regularly hence the question being asked.
Title: Current bc2 admin tools
Post by: lionheart on August 05, 2010, 09:40:01 AM
The Wolfcon log in works fine, its the sub-admin tool (hosted on a seperate box I think) that is dodgey, Ive had a look round and it seems its a bug, the developer (Wolfy) is ill at the moment so a fix is delayed.

Info about this is in this forum thread  Here. (http://www.killercreation.co.uk/forums/topic/1373-wolfcon-20-daemon-trial/page__st__100)      Post 75 onwards.

Guys,

I have a new update that I'm sending off to TL tonight that addresses some of these issues. I've also made a few tweaks to the rest of the setup so we'll need to upload a new file.

guys..

If I'm not around, can you make sure that you can login to wolfcon as a sub admin. It's important that at least one of the admins that are playing have access to admin tools.

Let me know if you have any problems.

Tks.

Right are we supposed to be using wolfcon to login now? I've been trying with wolfspawn for the last 2 days and not getting any luck. Searched around on the lionguards forums and it looks like wolfspawn isn't updated anymore but wolfcon is. So I downloaded that, ticked "sub client login" put in my details and Im now logged in. And now I have connection established.

The other commands like /say /yell are working for me, have yet to use /kick but I'm sure I will figure that out now I'm super admin

Tried any tests on your connection to see what the problem is?   Server's been up and running happily all day for me, so unless it is wolfcon specific or your connection......

Your probably doing the same thing I was doing KK -

Admin Commands - No Wolfspawn required

As a reminder, all admins can use the following commands by simply using the in-game message (default J or K) and then the command:

    /say
    /yell
    /kick
    /ban
    /swap
    /skipround
    /invite
    /teambalance

say, yell, kick, ban & swap all need the players name after whatever you type.

Re the server crash which happened at 04:14 yesterday and was fixed by KKND joining the Multiplay IRC last night:

If you have Clanforge access then you can restart the server yourself without having to get Multiplay to do it.  So it is worth having a Clanforge account and getting access sorted for problems like the server restart.  It only needs Admin Level 2 of 7 so is not a security risk for us.

Currently the only people registered on Clanforge are:  Ninja, Lionheart & the dMwCouncil account.
