At Easy jet, they started charging money for luggage you check in. 44 euros a person! :ranting2:

As all I need (clothing, plugs, books) can be carried in a "handbag", I  don't really need a trunk. But this would mean no syrupwaffles.

However, to soften the pain, they give a 50% discount if you ("buy") pre  check your luggage in advance. But thats still 22 euros.

The profit of 20 packs of syrup waffles (I might max it out to 25-30  packs by leaving stuff home) is about 15-17 euros (21-25 when maxed) So with minus 22 euros fee, its  not really a real profitable sale anymore.

I could still do it, if you guys really want it, but then there would be  hardly anything left to advance into the server fundings. And it would  become more of a syrupwaffle sale, then donating to the server fundings.

So my question is:
- Will the admins allow me to sell syrup waffles, without a real  donation part to the server fundings
- Are you folks still happy to buy syrup waffles, knowing that you won't be donating (a real amounth) to the server fundings anymore?

(I'll book my flight between now and sunday, so the poll will be up short)

edit:
If prices would go to 2 pound 50, and we don't give the 3 packs for 5 pound discount, profit will go up and the real profit (minus lugage fees) will go up with 10-15 pounds and ofc more if I can bring more.

edit 2:
I allready checked how much it would cost to send over a box of 20, 30 or 50 packs of syrupwaffles to Penfold, but those prices are insanly high (couple hundreds of euros a box), so no option :(

I've voted 'No' as my diet will come under enough pressure that week-end

I checked TNT (our standard house mail) and UPS

Do they take from Holland and sent to UK too?

Yes of course.

It's been very kind of you and DuVeL to donate money to the server funds from previous sales but its never been a requisite and we've never asked for it. In fact we've kept trying to pay you back for your expenses but you've always both (generously) declined.

I'm sure Sheepy and the admins would agree there's no problem in you bringing Syrupwaffles to the LAN..... umm just so long as you save them a packet or two to buy of course :).

PS. if you had made the poll public you could have used that for orders. Let me know if you want me to reset it (although we'll lose the current votes).
PPS. Not for me thanks. They're ridiculously moorish but I'm saving my calories for the Malt :norty:

For those desperate for syrupwaffles you can actually buy them in the UK now. At least my local corner shop sells them anyway.

So if we don't want to fly them over all is not lost :)

The UK bought ones are not as good as the proper dutch ones in my opinion.

Lidl do sell a version but they're German and not as nice.

Seems there isn't really a lot of animo for it, so I'm just gonna tuck a few packs in my hand-luggage bag for those reacted in the thread.

We have a continetal market 3-4 times a year in Sheffield and there is a stall from Holland that sells nice licorice, cheese and syrup waffles.
Might be worth checking if there is one on in your vicinity?

I have to say... I really missed them at this LAN! I would pay extra for multiple packs. They were a great mid-beer, mid-drunk, mid-gaming snack! :D

As the ones I bought are getting pretty near the ones you guys can buy at the lidl (caramal wafles they are called) I won't be bringing those anymore.

What I will bring is a special XL waffles, they are even more tasty, and wrapped per 2, to keep them super fresh and soft :)

I can confirm that these XL waffles are "the win".
