Title: All you network Guru's out there.
Post by: JB on October 05, 2003, 12:28:27 PM
Ever since i installed this router, one machine is constantly sending information out to the net.  It sends exactly 100 packets(i'm assuming bytes) every second or so.
But to where i have no idea, it's only running 1 thing in the background and thats f-secure my antivirus which isnt updating.

Now i've tried doing a 'netstat -a' and it says the only connections are 'listening' and there's no 'established' which i assume means it's appreantly not sending it anywhere, but it's still going.

Hope your following, is there anyway i can see where information is actually being sent to?  I'm half certain it's going somewhere outside my network as the DSL light flashes on the front of me router as opposed to just flashing on the RJ45 port when it sends to the other pc.

Btw it still does this when the 2nd pc is turned off.

Quick background questions:

What router do you have now?

Where are you getting the "100 packets a second" figure from?

Maybe from there, we can see if there's anything we can help ya with.
