Title: A look at Android 2.2
Post by: delanvital on April 23, 2010, 07:38:15 AM
Pretty cool, for whoever ends up using it:

QuoteGoogle is reportedly in the testing phase of its new OS update Android  2.2 code name Froyo (for Frozen Yogurt).  Android is  moving very fast at becoming the elite OS for the smart phone mobile  world. Version 2.2 is set to address Android fragmentation, which would  make it possible to update OS components without having to wipe out the  current firmware. Also the update would support Flash 10.1, which is no surprise with  the current fall  out between Apple and Adobe (http://www.androidtapp.com/adobe-calls-it-quits-on-flash-apps-to-iphone/).  Minor updates are also expected to  increase performance by freeing up RAM, and improving the accuracy of  the touch screen.
All in all this is gearing up to be an exciting update and we are  hoping to hear more officially about the release sometime in May when  Google host its annual I/O developer conference.

Maybe, just maybe, the delay in getting us 2.1 is because we're going straight to 2.2 :D

My thoughts exactly. But that is what I thought with 1.6 as well. And 2.0.1, so...

Oh great, when we finally get 2.1 it'll be already nearing the end of it's shelf life.
