Are you plugged into your master socket and what type of router do you have?
If it's a zyxel it'll tell you your attenuation, if not....post it up and let's see what people can offer...oh, and just thought, low ping but no throughput, have you been downloading a lot?
its a belkin F5D8633-4 v1 was fine on sunday, could get onto steam and use the internet. The internet is still useable... all be it a bit slow, but when i phoned BT i asked them about how much o had downloaded this month and they said 16 gigs. 14 of that was il2 patches and mods form the offical il2 site
annyway here is the other stuff
ADSL
Type Interleave Path
Status SHOWTIME
Downstream Upstream
Data rate(Kbps) 8128Kb 448Kb
Noise Margin 15 26
Output power(dBm) 120 139
Attenuation(dB) 8 4
Is your line limited after downloading a certain amount? I'm on Virgin broadband and after downloading more than 2 gb in a hour they cut my speed to 1/10 of the speed...... apparantly if i upgrade ill get it removed (yeah right..)

no im not being limited according to bt
anyway here is there speed tester result

Download Speed
83 Kbps
0 Kbps 250 Kbps
Max Achievable Speed
Download speedachieved during the test was - 83 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 50-250 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :8128 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 135 Kbps
how is 50-250 kbps acceptable on an 8 meg line......
this is the data from my backup router

That there is your problem.
I'm guessing that you had some noise on your line, or something that has caused your router to re-sync several times and one of those times would have been at a real low speed (below 250kbps) and that has forced your IP Profile to just 135 kbps.
You can either wait for 7-10 days with a stable line for the system to re-set or get your ISP to do it for you.
However, if you've an intermittent line fault, then this may happen again. I know what it's like as I've had a similar problem and this was only resolved when I had a new cable put in from the pole to my house as this was damaged and causing a really noisy line whenever it rained!
ok at least bt has confirmed this...so they are looking into this
You're welcome... :flirty:
whooops soz gandalf, i had typed thanks but for some reason it didnt post...my apologies
