Title: Forum Upgrade
Post by: TeaLeaf on May 10, 2010, 06:35:17 PM
As you can see, the forum & content management software has been upgraded today by Gandalf (thanks G!). Now begins the process of moving the content over to its new home. We expect this will take some time, so if you spot something that should not be there or needs an update please post. BUT, give it 48 hours first please as it is a blank install that went in and we need some time to move over the work that has already been done from the test site to this one.

Enjoy!

Multi-quote text on bottom right of posts is too big to fit. Is it just me?

It's the same for me Ninja and is the same on the test forum too.

Same here. Probably just a CSS issue as it's text.

Is it just me, or does the forum seem to load a bit (sometimes remarkably) slower than it did before? Or is it perhaps tuning-thing that will be sorted out once things start to settle?

It's the database tuning that is ongoing. Should be done by the morning.

upon investigation (the forum helpage) I find that I have to be logged out to get "Today's posts"
If I log in I only get "New Posts"
Is there a work around for this?
It's really bugging me that when I refresh after looking at a new post, it disappears.
Also, while my gobs warm, whatever Reply button I click, I get the quick reply, I have to click Go Advanced to get to where I want to be ( I have never used the quick reply option in the past, and don't really know how it can be quicker)

You can double click the reply button to get the main reply window, and I should be able to get the 'Todays Posts' link back easily enough, I'll get to that when I get a free moment!

We're adding the various bits over time (or as we have time to be completely truthful), so it should reappear shortly. Thanks for the reminder though!

Both "New Posts" and "Today's posts" should now show up as an option on the forum navigation bar.

Has the gallery disappeared forever or has my senility gene switched on?

I was going to post about this too.

I can't seem to find it anywhere :(.

Any chance we can have it as a tab at the top of the screen?

Okey dokey. There is a built in album - gallery feature. You can get to it by clicking on community - my albums. This takes you to your own personal album. When you click on a forum members profile you can see their album, assuming they have one, which almost no one does.

The old style gallery which I imagine is what you're after can be found here

Obviously we need to add a link somewhere obvious :doh:

Search in the navbar template:

{vb:raw template_hook.navbar_start}
<vb:if condition="$show['searchbuttons']">

Add below the line above
