I have to say, this looks rather splendid. It's going to be available on Steam for about Ã,£12 and if it's got LAN support we might be onto a winner....
.......
Looks good, I might have to buy that.
We played the Airfix dogfight game at Oct LAN, that was a fun distraction.
According to the Dogfighter beta forums, LAN play is fully supported.
Huzzah.
guys.. I think this could have some (albeit limited) potential. Not sure if there's a demo as I haven't been able to find one yet.

I think one of the problems/keys is to find a game which everyone can easily pick up and play. I like the idea of a flight combat game as a diversion but if that's all it's going to be then should we ask people to have to buy it?
Pete, were people just running the demo and can you play it multiplayer? How many per side?
Thanks

It was multi player, but I don't know how many it will support. we played deathmatch stylee with about 3 or 4 IIRC.
I just dl'd it from someones zip file and we played on a local server.
it was easy to pick up and play.
can't remember who I played against or wh I got it off.
In a similar vein: http://store.steampowered.com/app/41300/
It's only a couple of quid on Steam.
Airfix is a zip file, I was playing with Sn00ks, Blunt and someone else. It's basic, but good fun for five minutes. Everyone knows if you want another LAN game, Trackmania is where it's at.

Just played on it (It's a free weekend) and it's good fun. I'll probably end up buying it.
I,ve just bought Altitude, it was only Ã,£3.49, good fun, quite a few game modes, including "airball" which is kind of football with fighter planes. Oh and importantly you can host your own server. As was said its free this weekend so worth a try for the last few hours.
Dogfighter beta keys are now available, sign up here: http://www.dogfighter-game.com/betakeys
WooHoo Im in.
They are giving out two keys at a time so if anyone wants but cannot get give me a shout for my spare one.
Me 2 I have 3 spare!!!!
ME too.
If as many people as possible grab one that would be great.
applied for mine but yet to receive email
crap theve ran out...if anyone has a spare.....
Sorry - already given mine away!
It's quite good fun - very arcade, but very easy to pick up and play.
I imagine it would be a good laugh after a few beers at a LAN :)
Thanks to Lionheart I managed to get a key for Dog Fighter and have to say this is a great little game. It's control system is a little funky, not sure I understand the game fully but certainly has potential. Altitude on the other hand is an immediate must buy. After playing the free weekend for 5 mins I made my original post almost committed to purchase, and 10mins more gameplay later it was bought. Surprisingly deep game with multilevel tactics which is really unexpected from a 2D sidescroller-esque type game. A number of times I've even thrown myself in front of enemy fire to protect the ball carrier or forced a stall so I could get the drop on the opposition etc. Team work is important in many game modes, and it would certainly be a blast at a lan.

Yup I've PM'ed you one.
Being stupid, where the heck do you download it from? I can't find a download link anywhere on http://www.dogfighter-game.com/
To activate the key
1. Install a working copy of steam
2. When logged in click the "Games" tab in the upper left corner.
3. Navigate to "Activate a Product on Steam..."
4. Copy paste key in
5. Bam, install!

I had to restart steam for it to start.
Tox and I played a game yesterday, it was great fun, even if I was Crap:D
I just remembered the dMw motto "Your skill is not important, it's your altitude that counts":D
Got it and downloading, thanks all!
Anyone up for some plane-biff tonight?
Maybe after the ARMA II missions :)
Picked up Dog-fighter today from Steam and was disappointed. A flight game and 'Joystick' not supported?
Unfortunately a Logitech wheel and gear-shift on my desk precludes easy keyboard use, so until they include the control I've wasted a wodge (Ã,£9)
