I'm trying to get PB to stop kicking me from BC2 server every 5 minutes.
Searching for answers to "PnkBstrB.exe Heartbeats Stopped" error, I find many so-called solutions.
A few mention firewalls and anti-virus software being the problem.
I am running ESET and windowsXP firewall, and I want to make sure that PB has all the access it needs, but I cannot for the life of me see where or how to check.
I have done all the usual things regarding PB (manual update, uninstall/re-install, etc etc)

I use Eset Smart Security and have had problems with shared files etc on my office network.
I just phoned the Eset technical help department on +44 (0845) 838 0832 and they talked me through it. Certainly worth a try.

TBH I'm not convinced that ESET or Firewall are the problems;
I'm just working my way through all the possibilities.
TL has been getting the same sort of problems, and I'd be interested to hear if he has ESET and what his ideas are.

Neither EA nor PB seem to have addressed this widespread problem when it is raised on their forums, and from what I've read, raising a ticket with them is pretty pointless too.

Strangely I do. But I have the AV (NOD32) only, not the firewall.

Did you say you have both NOD and Windows firewalls active? Turn them both off making sure you have no web connecting apps running (browser etc) and try again.
If it works OK then try each of them turned on and try again.
You should be OK to game with no firewall as long as you're behind a router - which most of us are these days.

Just tried that, no FW or AV, all net apps running, kicked after 5 mins:angry::angry:
Having same problem, and my AV is Avast. Has nothing to do with that IMHO. :-(
I've done the reinstall of PB, the manual update of PB, the only thing I have not tried is the 'throw a PB VP out of the window'. Working on it but still getting kicked atm.
I seemed to last a bit longer on a different server, but still kicked within 10 mins.
can't think of anything else I can do
I ran the Services Test and got no help either from these results (A was stopped as I had manually stopped it just before test).
