NF asked me about WolfSpawn, WolfCons intool admin tool. It allows all admins to use the same WolfCon with the same config without crashing the clients. But dont think i can run it on my own comp but i looked it up anyways and found this:
*Setup your connection to your server in WolfCon.
*Click on the Extensions tab
*Click on the Wolfspawn Users
*Click on the Add New button
*In the User box below, edit the username and add a password
*Select the access you wish to give to this account with the Sub Admin Permissions boxes
*Click Save
*Click on the WolfSpawn Console tab
*Enter the IP of the computer WolfCon is running on
*Choose a port not in use
*Your admins will use the above username, password, IP and port to connect to WolfCon via the WolfSpawn client (Create a new user for each admin)
*Click on the Enable WolfSpawn box and you are up and running!
NOTE: This requires you to have a static IP address. If you are running it on a home computer, you may have to forward ports or allow exceptions to your firewall. To find out how to do that, Google it.
Thanks Valdeko,
I have found the same info but I'm a bit lost to be honest. I'm waiting on the access info so I can get into WolfCon on the server (if that's possible for me to do!) and have a poke around. I'm going to download WolfSpawn later tonight and have a play as soon as I can.
For now, can all admins continue as they are. Once we've tested and configured WolfSpawn we can roll it out to the rest of us. Sorry for the delay and / or inconvenience.
NF
What do we gain over and above what we already have? Afaiaa we can all already use things like the /yell etc commands as the Wolfcon is run on BA4, so what's new on the table?
Last week, we encountered a problem when two versions of WolfCon were running on the game server which resulted in the map rotation being stuck all night.
Using WolfSpawn "should" avoid something like that happening in the future. It should also allow the admins to move players around etc. if necessary. From what I understand it's like client software that links into WolfCon on the server. Working symbiotically (lol.)..

There's a thread already started for Wolfcon access. Add you details in that thread and Whitey will get you onto the Wolfcon list.
The config file is attached, it is provided to one of the Server Admins (best bet currently is me or Whitey) so that we can upload to server and install. Unfortunately we do not give direct server access NF, sorry but too many opportunities to cock things up if we have a wide access list. The full list of BA4 access is iirc Whitey, Gandalf, Penfold, and me.

Ok, but Valdeko found out not to do it again so the problem should not happen again. If it allows additional benefits then sure we can set it up on BA4 - just provide the relevant details and forward to me or Whitey and we'll config it.
Thanks TL.. All the more reason to have WolfSpawn running if it works as intended..
I've already PM'd Whitey for more info.

Ye but "solution" means that no admin can run WolfCon for quick acess for the tool and to see if there's something wrong with the addon.
But with WolfSpawn ppl Can run the same configed WolfCon with no problems.
Aye, I've taken that onboard, just let us have the appropriate and we'll get it running.
I've sent the info to Whitey so he can set up the admins as wolfspawn users. I'll be testing it as soon as Whitey give me the go-ahead.

I've been happily using BF2CC to admin the server thus far - does WolfCon offer any advantages?
Yes.. It is also the tool I'd like you guys to use.
In addition to everything that BC2CC does, you can move players around if necessary and also manage VIP invites too.
Whitey has set me up and I'll test it later tonight when I'm back on line. Once I'm happy that it works I would like us all to start using it. Best to d/l a copy of it and familiarise yourself.

Hi Folks,
Quick Update.
Whitey has set me up with all the readies but we're having a wee problem with the Firewall. Once that's sorted, I'll get back to you with an update.
Apologies for the delay.
NF
Has this been sorted yet?
I cant connect using the settings sent, comes up with an IP address error, using 77.108.135.45 port 27015.
Check your firewall first.. I found that I had to remove the firewall rule for Wolfspawn and then add it back.
Guys,
Can all Admins Please login to Wolfspawn and post back here that it's working.
Thanks,
NF
Not strictly an admin for BFBC2 but I have Wolfspawn installed and working.
Come on guys.. Is Whitey really the only one that can be bothered to login to WS and post?
Works fine for me.
I'll be honest and say I haven't tried yet, mainly as I am busy with other stuff and not touched BC2 for a couple of weeks, but hopefully the BC2 admins will have had time and tried so I am looking forward to the responses.
Still the same errors for me...
Only time I got to try it with people on the server was the other night when we where doing the TDM & TS was going a bit nuts, seemed to work fine from what I could tell - although I didn't try anything out.

Have you tried to delete the app from your firewall rules and add it again? Can you post a screeny of what error message you're getting?
Dan
Ive turned the firewall off but still the same errors. The error appears so quickly it isnt even trying to connect. Ill post a screenie tonight when I get home.
Having probs getting the image. Normal service will be resumed asap.

This might be something really daft to say, but you seem to be using WolfCon there Lion, shouldn't it be WolfSpawn & not WolfCon?
Well spotted, but do you not enable wolfspawn from within Wolfcon? Or have I got it totally wrong?
I think there 2 seperate things from reading the site, ones client side & t'other is server side, try this one - http://www.lionguards.com/wolfcon/wolfspawn/Wolfspawn0_97b.zip
Thanks Rizzy you were right, I was trying to do the server stuff.
All working now.
Awesome! well done chaps.
With the new patch and new WolfCon update the wolfspawn might not work correctly or not at all entierly. Wolfy will launch an update for that later this week (should be up at the weekend).
