Great stuff, get ready for a really steep learning curve and then an immensely rewarding and unparalleled experience. If you get throught the first hour or so, you'll love it.

I'm sure Toby will be a long any second offering a boot camp :)

(can you tell I love it? - which version did you get?)

Much as it's tempting, try not to remap any of the keys, it's much easier to talk you through it if we have the default key setup :)

That's great Sithy:yahoo:

I didn't bother with the in-game boot camp in ArmaII because it's not very good,
but the one in OA is much better.
Bro Toby's Boot Camp will be the thing you'll need, although it's fine to jump on any time and ask questions as you go along.
I look forward to yomping across miles of map with you (to die immediately we get there:narnar:)

Sith

I will not be around on Tuesday sorry mate.  So I will see if I can get another day to do it this week.  If you dont mind I might have one or 2 other people wanting a run through it to.

It should take more than 30 mins max dependant on questions and setups.

You're an administrator on your PC, right? Drivers up to date?

Have you tried downloading the full DirectX installer (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=2da43d38-db71-4c1b-bc6a-9b6652cd92a3&displaylang=en), and re-installing it?

Here's a suggestion I found on the Steam forums, which forces the game to skip DirectX installation:
QuoteTo fix this problem and permanently skip the DirectX installer, using regedit navigate to HKLM\Software\Valve\Steam\Apps\10180 and add a new DWORD value named DirectX and valued 1.

I'm on holiday at the mo so I can't test it myself, but it might sort you out.

Direct X Set up:

A cabinet file necessary for installation cannot be trusted.
Please verify the cryptographic services are enabled and the cabinet file certificate is valid.
Ive reinstalled getting further new error message

Well the cryptographic services can be found in control panel> Administrative tools> services. Make sure their enabled. If not click on start up type, select automatic then reboot. Then try reinstalling Direct X
