DMR's Raiding Goals
DMR aims to be one of the top social raiding guilds in Cataclysm. DMR started late with TOC and ICC and were always playing catch up, but we'd like to see us move our raiding to current content.
Human Progress
DMR want to be one of the first non-hard core guilds to down new content whilst maintaining our more relaxed 3 day per week, 3 hours per night raid schedule. We want to keep our raid groups friendly, enjoyable but also successful.
Date of DMR's First Cataclysm Raid
Cataclysm launches on 7th December and with our raid aims in mind we are setting the goal of achieving our first Cataclysm DKP-earning 10 man raid on Wednesday 22nd December. We will need sufficient numbers of members to be at L85 in order to run this raid and would like to hear from people who will be levelling hard and ready for action. If we get 10 people ready before that date we will start raiding earlier but no DKP will be used prior to 22nd December.
Raid Content - 10 or 25 person
Initially DMR will aim to fill 2 successful 10 man raid groups with the intention to be able to expand into 25 man raiding soon after. We will recruit hard to fill open spots but a lot of our ability to do this will depend on people reaching L85 quickly and gaining raid experience as soon as possible in the new instances. Early raid success will lead to more recruitment - more recruitment leads to more raid success and the circle continues. It relies on YOU the members to make this success happen.
Levelling
We would urge people to join Teamspeak during their levelling and group up. Groups level faster than inidividuals and you get to run new 5 man instance content along the way. But let's not leave anyone behind, let's vary the groups and include everyone.
Change
DMR are currently ranked 32nd on Aszune for raid progress and we plan to improve this rank significantly in Cataclysm. The DMR Council call upon ALL members to support us in achieving this goal in whatever way possible. Please let Council members know if you want to be a part of this success.
Ive taken a week off from 6 of december for some real hard leveling. Daedalus will join me for that week so i can just about garantee we will hit L85 within that week. We will join TS during the lvling.
class and roles of daedalus and me:
Death Knight: Zyrtek - Tank - Melee DPS
Palladin : Daedalus - Healer - Melee DPS
Ive preordered a copy and might do the same as gijs, dunno yet.
But ill be leveling my hunter first.
My copy has been preordered some time ago and i have planned 1-2 weeks off starting from the 6th of december.
I will be leveling my priest as a healer (disc/holy)
Lunares
I will be going to the shops on the 7th and leveling Lynx and Disc/shad as per usual
GOGO DMR!!! :yahoo:
Cataclysm is in the pre-order already, but I have no idea at the amount of time I can spent on leveling the first week.
I'm going to level my leatherworking too, since it has very nice armor for hunters.
I'm gonna have Cata from the start to, only i can't get free from the 7th december. But i have the last week in december free and i hope i'll be 85 then. My main will still be my warlock. He is the first to lvl to 85

Ladies and Gents,
I am with Gijs... and like the release of WotlK we leveled within the week. Now the advantage of hard leveling is that you have mostly skilled players when you are going to do dungeons... the loot obtained from those dungeons (and on heroic) are very welcome to start your first 10 men raid. If there are enough people leveled to 85 the 10 men raids will give loot for good gear up. This is good for progression thus for the guild and it's recruitement status....
Enough sleep.. dedication and not much alcohol will get me through the first week.....
I've got some time off during first two weeks of December and plan to be 85 in time to raid. Will be good to be back.
I have 2 weeks off start December and plan to be 85 in time for the raid start. Will be good to be involved again, have missed it. The TS3 is a good idea and Ill be on that. Go DMR!
I will level as fast as i can, and should be there to play the raids whenever the character is ready. I dont plan on any time off, so it might take a bit of time
You never let us down.. so I am pretty convinced you'll be there in time. :P
Meanwhile you might wanna check my profile I put in the Pally Healing thread. I want to know what yours is and how we can maximize our healing output. Specialy the healing rotation. I noticed after 1 holy shock I get 1 World of Glory and a very fast holy light cast....
Daedalus.
To be honest here.... im gonna stay a bit more on a break and ninja all your advice when i come back. I'll be looking into Hjalle (postal) and Goldhammer/Stygius (Eluo) also. That should cover how to do things ;)

Good idea.
I'll be back in Dec as i've pre-ordered WoW.
I'm almost possitive that I won't start raiding reguraly or at all really.
I'f I can help with enchants or mats then sure I will, just ask, or post a request.
(edit: oops, I was logged in as Ninja, hadn't noticed, its me Luminance)
well, i lvled my paladin from 80 - 85 in like one week of normal play (not HC play), without the use of any instances in the beta. So i guess i'll do about the same when cata gets released ^o)
Remember you get 200% rested the whole time in Beta at the moment so real levelling is slower.

seriously? that sux... oh well, i know the drill now, so make it 1.5 week at a slower rate :p

If it will be like the release of BC, it will take 1 hour per quest. You know, 20 spawn points, quest is: "Get 10 items of xyz", droprate 20%, and 500 people running on 1 square pixel trying to tag the next mob
Oh, and the framerate will be 1 frame per 5 seconds with a latency in the 5 digits.
Can't wait :)
The general structure has changed quite a lot in Cata. There are multiple quest hubs in zones and a distinct path through each area with heavy use of phasing. The initial Cata starting quest zone is littered with relevant mobs and very quickly (after 2 quest) sends you to phased and other areas, so I am not expecting it to be anything like as nasty as WotLK (or worse TBC) was.
So far I've only come across 2 quests which stick out as bottle necks, one in Vashjir and the other in Uldum.
Don't worry, I've been on beta since mid July. I've seen (almost) all quest for the high level areas and intend to (ab)use any quest area that requires to kill a big amount of skinnable beasts. Fast way to get skinning and leatherworking up to 525 :)
In fact, Blizzard knows those problems too. I've seen quests where you could hardly walk 10 yards without being attacked by newly spawned mobs.
im hoping i will be lvl'ing ata an ok speed but i cannot promise anything because its the month of chritmas and as im working at a clothing for men shop we will get busy at that time and there will be a lot of extra shifts for me so i sadly dont think ill make the 22. dec. aim but rather ill be in first in january :D hoping to have energy to play more then i have lately :) i miss u all :D
well, the beta was like that, altho it was only like that in the starting areas, so why would it be any different at release?

From my beta experience they get you out of that initial starting area super fast and into phased areas, so I think it will be *way* better than we have experienced in the past.
Bottom line though, it will be crowded initially as every WoW player in the world logs in and starts the grind to 85. Usually it clears up significantly within a couple of hours as players go to bed, so I'm personally looking to overnight it again. Blizz have also massively increased spawn points for the starting zone quests so this will reduce congestion still further.
Once into phased areas things should start getting a bunch better real quickly.
I love you when you put your name in your sig.
When it comes to Cataclysm; theres a lot of good points made in this thread. ALOT of guilds are seeing hard times these days, as people are dropping out of raids, and not attending at all. Many are on beta servers, whilst others are doing RL stuff.
When the magic dates approaches, I will, amongst others be more active and that TS3 idea is actually great. Social guilds, when organized well, often has a tendency to do just aswell as poor hard-core ones.
I would like to stress one thing though; Guild Achievments. Dig into this, as this is gonna be one of the real -awsome- factors in Cata.
I will never ever drop into a random BG / raid / dungeon again... without the magic words in guildchat: "Anyone else for .... ? "
Hope you guys are with me on that one, as it will glue the guildies together.
