I notice today on the server that KC has been turned off.
Can you please step forward and tell me who made this decision to turn it off?

Feck my fault......
During the Squad rush, because of the close maps and only 4 a side.
When you kill someone 15 seconds later you get an rpg thrown at you.
I forgot to switch it back when getting the 32 man server going,.
Squad rush plays 100% better with it off.

However..
Let's make decisions like this as a team. Personally.. I like it off and I think we're at that saturation level where we could turn it off altogether. However, I want to hear from you guys as admins but also turn it over to our Community so that those that are playing BC2 can decide..

I vote to turn KC off as I think the game is more challenging without it..
This may frustrate some of our regulars however.
I don't mind either way, when someone kills me I like to know where they are, when I kill someone I'd prefer they don't know where I am. I'm happy to go with whatever the majority decide upon.

All tactics are blown out the water when they know exactly were you are. They come straight for you thus loosing all tactical advantage.
But as said a vote will be good.
We used to have it off (oo-er) but can someone please remind me the argument which led us to switching back on in the first place?

I found an article at the time and it showed that kill-cam off servers had a much lower population.
People, e.g. noobies like me, like to learn and when kill-cam is off it means you just die and rarely learn, so the better 'already max level' players just cream you and wait for you to respawn and it do it to you all over again. When you are new to a server that's not a fun way to enjoy your gaming.
Kill-cam on keeps the game fluid as it forces people to keep moving and to not remain static for the round. Noobies learn about 'git spots' and can be more aware, die less and have more fun. Imo that's a better way forward than a strict kill-cam off approach.
As I said, there was some research done not long after BC2 launch that showed lower populations on kill-cam off servers, but I cannot remember where it was. Yes we're a tactical gaming community, but think through the other games that we play that give a replay or a log of how you died. The tactical comes in how we work together on TS, not how we camp as individuals in 'the best spot'.

I guess one thing it does help with is identifying & locating peeps when there in the wrong place or not playing fairly, with kill cam off if a team is base rapping then it's gonna be harder to spot what's going on.
Does turning off the kill cam make us a "Hardcore" server ?

No it causes it to show the Silver skull in the server list(Semi Hardcore)
