Title: Tags & In-Game Name - important
Post by: Penfold on November 09, 2010, 10:01:55 AM
IMPORTANT:

We're just working on the vagaries of the naming system in BO and will post back shortly.

In the interim please note that NO ONE apart from Blunt and his nominated team of BO admins should start off wearing a dMw tag. (This team, as I understand it, will initially comprise existing CoD4 admins may then be extended at a later date).

For everyone else, The badge and tag has to be awarded by the Game Leader - And while it's fairly obvious that those with a CoD4 background may get badged up quickly others will have to wait.

We do not want a repeat of the BC2 fracas!

Thanks

Update to this:

Once you have reached lvl 6/7 (you rank up very quickly) you can enter a clan name under 'playercard'.

You can not used any -=[|/:.,>< characters in the clan tag, so the tag will be dMw not dMw|

In playercard, if you type 'dMw' will appear like this: [dMw]
Once awarded your 'badge' by Blunt (Game Leader, COD) then add a clan name in playercard and your name will appear as: [dMw]yourname
So when you start a toon, just use a name, not anything prefixed by dMw.

A full 'dMw' name should therefore be [dMw]yourname

-the blue element is the name used by the member in-game
-the red brackets are added automatically by the game
-the dMw is the clan tag entered by the player in the playercard once awarded the badge by Blunt

Is this the same as the steam username?

Or can you change your player name in BO?

BO uses your Steam name.
If you change your Steam name to "GhostMjr" ie. drop -=[dMw]=- , you can add the Tag once you've reached 6th rank and been awarded it.

funny.. I thought it was level 10.

Double Checked.. While I can create a clan tag at level 6, I can not edit my name until level 10..

Can someone double check as it is late and I am thick.. :p

What you on about Willis?
Your name is your steam name. you have to remove the -=[dMw]=- tag from your steam name.
When you get tags for BO you can add dMw in the game and your name will show as [dMw]yourname

After level 10 it allows you to edit your playcard.. at level 6 the clan tag is an option as we know..

I should level up to 10 by the weekend or in reality the next time I play the game. Once I hit that I'll see if I can change my name w/o having to change my steam name. Perhaps one of you 10+ folks (that's levels not IQ so Blunt you're OK) can have a play?

I haven't found a way to change my name without using Friends yet.
