Is it posable to have an server on à saterday or sunday where THE young ones can play cs online without THE blood and stuff.
I mean a secure site were they can have fun.
My sun is now 7 and he is alowed to play offline, i would like it if he could play against hes uncles (Duvel and da-ricci) and members of dmw.
Greatz king.

At the moment Kings son (Brian) is playing CZ on Kings acount, he is getting used to the game atm but I reckon if he can have a few games with us it would be nice. He's to young for BF and CoD so I'm asking the Main-Admins, how much trouble is it to setup a dedicated CZ server with costs and such? Heck, we even might get a fun game out of it later at night.
EDIT; BTW, I've learned him a bit how to play by sound and check his radar while playing CS:CZ and he picked it up in 10 minutes. It was fun to watch and I think he's a true dMw in the making...
It's not that we're not reading the thread, but it raises some issues which need further discussion.
It would be Nice if this could for one weekend or so, perhaps even longer but i will hear if its posible or not.
Already Thanks for THE effert.
Greatz king
I'm ready to get kicked by Brian.
Guys,
We've given this much thought and it comes down to this:
We're more than happy to put up a CZ Server again if there's enough demand for it from the Members. However, as pointed out in the other thread, we're not a crèche and we're not marketing ourselves as a server for youngsters. That includes putting up child-friendly servers without blood etc. The feeling is that although we accept and encourage under 18's to come and play with us they need to have the maturity to fall in line with us, our gameplay, style and ethos. We're not going to specifically cater to a younger market.
Other Council members have phrased it better than I will at 10pm at night so I'll plagarise their words:
"We are a grown up community that shouldn't really be offering any specific services to children. I think members need to be aware that they cannot consider the dMw forum, guilds, clans, groups or servers as being particularly child friendly by default. Yes, as individuals we will try to keep things civil and if we know kids are about on the servers we would obviously bear that in mind and behave accordingly."
"My opinion is that we're a mature community that has no particular issue with under 18's on our servers or in our forum, but on the other hand we don't cater for children or offer any specific facilities for them. No kiddy badges, kiddy nights etc etc."
"I don't like the sound of it and don't think we should do it. Having well admin'd servers where parents feel safe letting their older children play is one thing but having a dMw approved kids server is something else completely. "
I'd like to point out that this decision was unanimous and hope you can see it from our side.
Thanks
The thing is what King really wanted is a passworded server to play on for some CS:CZ fun for his kid to have where me and my twinbrother da_Ricci have the opportunity to play at while Brian (King's son) is playing, it doesn't need to be highly adminned or such as this would have been a passworded server. It would have been nice if he could have setup like the quota off bots or such even if it would have been just Brian playing. The kid is playing solomode atm where King is setting the standard for which he is allowed or not.
For your point 1;
As I requested, what would it take/cost for dMw to setup such a server (passworded and all)? CZ hasn't been played for quit a while within dMw and this is the only game King is allowing his son to play atm. He might be way underage but we, the uncles (DuVeL and da_Ricci) would like to have a game with him and maybe some other youngsters that might be interested in this game. He is only 7, do you think he stays up late like his uncles da_Ricci and DuVeL? We're not all from Gitvill yet :)
For your point 2;
We're not asking for any kiddy badges or anything. We just want to have a game with him while he plays. The little one is a quick study while gaming and we'd like to have a game with him like CS.
3rd, the only English he is learning is from this chick called Dora which is annoying enough. Google it ;)
In short what King is asking (and me);
-What would it take to setup a Private CZ-server where bots can be controlled etc by him or another member (remember this is a game that is not played anymore within dMw)?
-This would just be a server where he can teach his son to play and with his uncles and maybe some other younger members /older members for the correct dMw attitude/gameplay/fun.
I hope the council members get my drift with this.
Just a thought. Might it not be easier to run a local server on one of your machines? That way you would have full control and it can be run whenever you would like?
We've tryed that, or atleast King and da_Ricci have.
I used to like CZ a whole lot to be honest. I found the gameplay better than CS at times.
I agree that if the community want to play it then we should offer it. It doesn't sound like we have a big interest from the community however. We'd also need a GL etc. and that's more time commitment from someone. I'd be happy to play now and then but not enought that I'd want to run the section.
While the servers have the capacity if the Clan Leaders have discussed it we need to go with their decision at the end of the day.

We did not get it working, and it was just a thought that if it was easy to do, it might be fun for à view weeks.
Perhaps you can send me à view tips how i can start à local server?
But can we play online against Duvel and da-ricci in such server?
Perhaps that really is an better idea.
Thanks for looking into it.
King
perhaps we could start a PASSWORDED cz server have all of the old cs admins as an admin plus king, duvel and da-ricci as admins. Problem solved, They can play as and when they want and no pubs get involved
Firstly thanks for making the old duffers talk about something whilst we watch re-runs on the telly and drink dry sherry....
However, much as we'd like to be able to do something it opens up too many concerns. We moved away from CZ for a reason and to roll back and bring up a server for the sake of a couple of saturday nights for 3-4 people isn't tenable. First and foremost we are here to support the community and in the same way we moved forward with BC2, Black Ops etc, the step backwards would be the wrong thing to do. The administration and commitment involved far outweighs the benefit from the community perspective. I'm sure that by the time we had set something up with the appropriate vars, controls, admins, rcon limits, various maps etc, reboots, updates, etc the forum members as a whole would be able to fix whatever issues you have in terms of setting up your own local server. We need to take into account the time that is spent currently admining the servers and adding something for a minority dilutes the time we have available for focusing on staying current and looking forward.We have no restrictions on our servers for the supported games other than the right attitude so catering for a junior crowd (irrespective of the 'in house' piece) is not a web we want to get tangled in at present.
I appreciate it's not the answer you want to hear, but hopefully you'll understand the reasoning. We (I say we, I mean others more technical than me) will obviously give you any guidance we can about setting up a local server.
