I read this:

Although is their an age limit on the tag or is it open to all?
This was agreed and approved by Ninja.  Personally i think its a  good idea as it clearly identifies them as members to both us and  publics.

and have to say my stomach gave a slight lurch. Am I the only one?

The tag is *not* an identifier as to who may or may not be a member of dMw. It is a symbol that that person has reached the required standards of maturity, play, style and ethos that we hold so very dear.

It marks out people as ambassadors of dMw and personally I'd be reticient about dishing it out as a marker.

What do y'all think?

What game is it in? My tuppenth (that's 2p with a lisp) is that you earn your wings. You play right, you get wings, 6 or 60.

I know we've just had a TS discussion about this but I want to make sure everyone knows where I'm coming from..

First and absolutely foremost: Keep to the Community Standards

The dMw tag must be earned for each game that we support. While the Game Leader awards the badge at their discression, the standards as set out by the community must apply.

The dMw tag is to be Respected and also Can Be Taken Away.

I like most of the admins and definately the community leaders have worked hard to get here and I'll be damned if I'll make it "easier" for others by letting the standards slip.

dMw Juniors:

While we can all apreciate that being young this is "big boy" gaming and they are excitable little chaps so they will chatter on a bit more than necessary. Not too much more than Sulky does in Arma I imagine. :P

One of the great things about this community is mutual respect and politeness. If a dMw junior is carrying on too much, they should be politely told to keep the chatter down and not a "play by play" of what they are doing / seeing. Remember that this is a learning environment and these are young gamers. If we tell them nicely and politely to calm down our quieten down, they should do so.

Most importantly, dMw standards must apply.

We allow them to play as they have demonstrated maturity and understanding of the "dMw way". Or at the very least they are willing to learn it.

Again, giving out tags is down to the GL's decision but remember getting a tag in one game does not give you an open invitation to wear it everywhere....

I don't think I've missed anything but if I have Pen please chime in.

One thing I love about dmw is the fact it is a mature comunity...Not being sure what age we are talking about here but joining a game to find it full of kids would put me off. I think it's a mental scar from a young frenzy shooting me in the face for the 500th time in a night :P

I'm not saying we don't alow them in but the fact a request has been made to move them to another dedicated channel throws up a warning sign that something is not right. If they have dmw wings then they should be good in all aspects of the game including coms

:roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:
the legend that is Sulky:rolleyes:

I'm quite happy to go along with whatever is decided as long as the standards are kept up.

A tag is has to be won through, in my eyes team play, maturity, regular attendance and presence on the forum.

That's how I got mine.

I agree with all points above in regards to tags.

In regards to the young guns I have played a few games and had my butt handed to me.  But mine has been very possertive, the young fellow cleaning my clock was chatty and excited but when spoken to he was polite and had a very good attitude.

Yes he was a little loud but I am also no shrinking violet.  I think if they can take the constructive criticism to chill a little then they will have shown the steps to the maturity we look for.

The sperate channel I feel is wrong due no oppertunity from them to learn.

Also the times that most of us play they are mainly tucked up asleep.
