I saw a deal for this game for only £20 is there any reason why I shouldn't buy it not from steam?
HERE (http://www.gamestation.co.uk/gs/call-of-duty-black-ops-47420)
Is the game worth getting and will we be playing it for some time?
I don't know what the steam price is atm, but it runs through steam anyway.
so it depends how quick you want it:)
The game's alot of fun, and now that the bugs & glitches are being sorted (mainly server-side) it can only get better.
My main bug-bear is that it takes 6 players to start a match (until then it's a cut-down map & in black & white:sideways:) as soon as you have 6 the server fills right up.
Mod tools are promised soon and some new maps (DLC price, if any, is unknown)
I won't be getting the new maps if I have to pay for them as it will exclude alot of people from our server, and I don't want to lose people after working hard to get a game going.
Hope to see you on the server soon.
any more questions just ask:D

imo Yes :D it is now anyway, like blunt said, now they have most of the problems sorted its alot of fun. We are getting an increased amount of interest so is should last a long while yet :D i for one will be playing it for a long time :boxing: :boxing:
I bought it recently on AMAZON for the same price.
Its uses steam anyway as Blunt says and just installs from DVD with no problems. Once you have given your CD key to steam you can Download from the steam server anyway =). There is no reason why you shouldn't buy from a non-steam vendor.
Hope this helps.

I bought on Amazon for that price. All you do is take the Key code on the back of the manual and type it into steam to activate. The throw away the antique gaming medium that is the DVD and never look back.
I only buy steam games, but I don't always buy them through steam. There are increasing numbers of steamworks games (ones which ONLY use steam), it's worth looking at disk prices for these as they are ALWAYS cheaper for new releases.
Or... insert the Steam key but tell it not to download, then install the game from DVD (which is a Steam Backup anyway) and then just watch Steam download the updates once it's installed.
Although looking around, you've probably missed the boat on this one, all the shops that were selling for £20 seem to have gone back up in price. £25 now seems to be the going rate.
You can always get a few extra pennies off by going through the cashback websites, I use TopCashBack (http://www.topcashback.co.uk/ref/liberator/?s=2) and you'd can get around a pound back from going through its links.
